@ronlee1975 Don’t worry. Fertilizer price increases are gonna make fuel increases look like a walk in the park I’m afraid

@CBKimbrell @ronlee1975 I spent the last 7 days in Brazil with huge farmers there. 50,000 to 2.2 million acre growers. I was there for soybeans and corn but their main crops included cotton also. 68 cent a pound and they are netting over $500 per acre after all expenses. Just can’t compete with it here

Brazil is killing the cotton market and the US seems to be complacent. We have limited choices imo. We can work trade deals to encourage purchases of US cotton over Brazil, we can bring back domestic milling, or we can give up on it and replace it with cattle pasture. That last one seems the most likely, but I can’t quite figure out how to utilize our cotton gin in that situation.

Just saw the USDA 10-year baseline projection for Cotton. They don't see the farmer receiving over 70 cents per pound at any point for the next 10 years. That's encouraging.

If you want to know how good cotton demand is, I just sold the first 19 bales of the entire 2025 crop season from the entire gin...to the USDA Classing Office in Memphis to calibrate their HVI machines...best premium out there.

@MichaelPanzier Definitely depends where you are regionally. Soybeans are a bigger loss than that in Ga right now. And corn ain’t far behind it as well as cotton and peanuts

@bandedagllc When I was in Brazil last year I asked a farmer if they had to run DEF and he literally had no clue what I was even talking about. Had never even heard of it before lol

I’m gonna rant a tad AND not about the dealer nor mechanic. But this is becoming a sight too often on this tractor over something stupid as hell, the DEF system. I have spent thousands of $ so far and still no fix. We’ve replaced def header, cleaned filters, changed harnesses, and now the stupid dosing solenoid. At what point does this bullshit stop on these systems. Let alone how damn worthless and stupid they are on these machines and other countries don’t even have them. End of rant. Thank you, lol

Can wait to have my hopes dropped like an anvil when I get into the field, lol. Dangerous game counting pods and here I am doing it. 5plants right in a row with 30” spacing stripped last fall… Remember them singulated beans I showed earlier in the year? There’s something to it….

@cowtown_law There’s no insurance behind wheat anyways. But even on the full season I just report it as the same. Field acres are field acres no matter what the row spacing

Skip row corn double cropped behind wheat is looking good! The thinking was to thicken it up in each row and take every 3rd row out to help late season heat out at night since it would be pollinating a lot later than our full season corn and in the hottest time of the year

I got to go to Brazil last December. Gave presentations in 6 states. Talked to several farmers that said cotton was making 2,400-3,000 Lbs per acre after being double cropped behind 65 bushel soybeans. Saw a field that was 40,000 acres in one block with not a tree on it. That’s when I knew we were in big trouble over here. Going back this December and they said we will go to the part of the country with the “real big fields this time”

Every time I even think about buying cotton futures I’m gonna refer back to this tweet. My gin manager just received this harvest picture from his mate in Mato Grosso. Man, we are just pissing into the wind up here.

@neilbernhoft @Storm5farms I plant with 8 row and 16 row planters and the head is 12 row. I’ve primarily ran Deere in the past but have ran some case also

@AlexHarrell21 @Storm5farms Do you plant with 12,16 or 24 row planter? What other heads have you ran to compare it against? We are in the market for new corn head and curious on these new designs.

@Njerabek92 @josh_sayler Everytime I spray herbicide I have a quart of Brandt Smart Trio in it and then either 1 oz of radiate PGR, or either a quart of network from ROI biologicals. One of those paired with quart of trio has helped us tremendously with metabolizing herbicide

So the only field of spring wheat I didn't spray is now little weedy but yield is 10 bu+- better than anything else .. does having to metabolize the chem make that kinda difference??? Or just coincidence????
