@wricecake PG County has some really nice areas and some of the worst. It’s how you can have the wealthiest Black county in the country while also having not great schools and crime.

The DMV is home to the wealthiest black areas in the country. Collectively, this is what we’re use to. Friends, colleagues, church members.. We live different. Media won’t show you this.

Saw a video of a Black mom beating her child with a belt at school. I would have called the cops on her right there on the spot.

@update_marvel Kang’s tech is based on Iron Man’s. Would t surprise me if Kang found Ultron’s UI in the future and used it as a basis for his own technology and Miss Minutes.

@DrBritWilliams Financial Advisor here. He’s correct. Obviously most making $150K+ aren’t struggling but you’re absolutely squeezed from a tax perspective. You make too much to enjoy social programs yet are too poor to enjoy the massive tax right offs the top 10% get.

I know people are gonna harp on "worst" and I get why. But as a social class scholar, and reader of recent tax changes, OP is, unfortunately, correct. In fact, this range is prob the WORST for first-gen, low-income, & Black (b/c trust me) people. Nevermind those who all 3.

@DragonflyJonez Yeah so many young folks complain the club scene doesn’t look like how the movies use to portray and I’m like it was like that when we was out there just living. Was just reminiscing with my wife early about the ish we use to do in the club 😂

And buddy let me tell you I wouldn't change it for the world. We actually had fun when we hit the club. We danced. And weren't on our phones. The club actually looked like a club instead of like a call center where everyone is holed up in their sections that look like cubicles.

@longliveler Most don’t know they’re traumatized but wonder why they can’t maintain healthy relationships.

For those who got whoopings as a kid, do you feel it traumatized you? Were you beat unnecessarily? Looking back, do you think other methods of correction would have worked on you?

Why are you looking towards “soft parent Twitter” instead of opening a book, brainstorming non-abusive alternatives, or exploring resources that will help you better manage the children YOU fucked for? Y’all don’t need them kids and prove it every damn day. Chile…

No one in the “soft parenting” twitter community ever explains what to do when your kids literally don’t listen. Everything is based on the assumption that kids listen to instructions all the time and they don’t

@OBEY_elREY @cliff_ohio Hitting children is such a cop out. The part “pro-spankers/beaters/whoopers” refuse to acknowledge and accept is parenting requires you as an adult to change your behavior, model actions, and allow your child to get emotional, and make mistakes.

This is where real parenting comes in. It’s easy to beat a child and get it over with but it takes more work and consistency to incorporate behavior modification, teachable moments, reflective breaks, and opportunities to actually communicate & guide a child. It’s so telling.
