Students in 4-1, 4-2, 7-3 and 7-4 got together this week to identify consumers, producers, and decomposes and represent it in a food web. A great opportunity for academic collaboration between Div 2 & 3!

AJ will celebrate READ IN Week. READ IN Week highlights the importance of reading. We have guest readers, buddy class reading, whole school reading time and dress up like a book character day, all to give opportunities for us to share our love of reading with each other.

Alex Janvier School will honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in a variety of ways this week.

There are no classes at Alex Janvier School on Monday, September 25th for a Professional Development (PD) Day.

An email with lots of useful information about the new school year was sent to families (gr. 4-9) and students (gr. 7-9) earlier this week. Check it out!

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend as there will be a parent/guardian presentation, a school tour, and a chance to meet staff and ask questions

All Grade 7 students; returning Alex Janvier Grade 7 students included, are invited to our orientation at noon. Students who missed selecting options in the Spring will also choose their options. Please meet at the Main doors on the West side of the school.

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION is on Wednesday, August 30th ALL Grade 4’s: 10am -11am NEW Grade 5, 6, 8 & 9’s: 11am - 12pm ALL Grade 7’s: 12pm - 1pm

Playground excavation and equipment is now on site! Hooray for a start on our new playground!

We are so proud of all the achievements & accomplishments made by our Alex Janvier School students this year! They solved problems, faced challenges with courage, showed kindness, worked hard, made memories, learned from mistakes and persevered. Well done! Now HELLO SUMMER!!

This kick started their dream, along with food and cash donations from our broader community. The All Star Pantry was able to help 175 people this year. Thanks to Dentons, Make Your Mark and everyone who donated. They are hoping to continue the pantry next year.

Ms. Donna and 10 students had a dream to help Alex Janvier School families by creating a food pantry for making hampers. They applied to the United Way’s Make Your Mark campaign presented by Denton’s and were granted a 1000 dollar award.
