@Matt_Morrow88 @DanLThorpe Thank you again for this amazing opportunity, the Junior Governors were extremely proud to be able to represent our school in such a positive way. We look forward to seeing some positive changes with rules regarding smoking near schools.

Wednesdays gardening group reaped the rewards of all their hard work producing produce from our school garden. This week Beetroot brownies were on the menu after we harvested the Beetroot we took it to the @foodtech_alex to prepare for cooking. @AlexMcLeodPS

No better way to teach our children about where your food comes from and how it can be enjoyed. The thought of Beetroot brownies were not welcomed at first but the children were asking to cook them again in the end. @AlexMcLeodPS @foodtech_alex

Some impressive one handed egg cracking, we done lots of cutting, measuring, mixing, and of course tasting. @AlexMcLeodPS @foodtech_alex

Another busy week for our gardeners @AlexMcLeodPS Monday we finished of preparing the last of our lavender bags and poppie seeds to sell to our school community. All seeds were harvested from our school garden.

This week in Forest school we made crosses in memory in all those who lost their lives #RemembranceDay2021 we used the square lashing technique, some found it a little tricky but persevered. We then put them in the ground and had a 2 minute silence. @AlexMcLeodPS @yr6_alexmcleod

This week @yr6_alexmcleod returned to Forest school at our site in Bostall Woods and it was like they had never been away. They were super keen to return and got straight back into their den building and tree climbing. We saw some excellent demonstration of upper body strength.

When we got to Forest school we rolled our bread dough into a sausage shape and wound it round our stick, we were then ready to cook it on the fire. We had a special treat of apricot jam to dip our bread into. Mrs Collins was so impressed with how sensible we were around the fire

Our first ever Light Up the Sky event is off with a bang! It's great to see so many people from our school community gather for fireworks, fun and food!

From the plot to the plate! our gardeners were in the the @foodtech_alex this week cooking with the pumpkins they had grown over in the garden. They cooked pumpkin cookies, judging by the smiles and empty plates they went down a treat. Transferable skills @AlexMcLeodPS

More pumpkin dishes being cooked in our @foodtech_alex room this time we tried our hand at pumpkin soup. I was so impressed at just how sensible the children were with their own and others safety. Full tummies all round. @AlexMcLeodPS

This week at Forest school we shared the story The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We went on to make our own Trolls, we talked about the body parts our trolls will need and what resources we can use of the woodland floor. @AlexMcLeodPS @yr1_alexmcleod

Loved how @yr1_alexmcleod were able to transfer their classroom learning to Forest school and it was able to influence their Troll designs. We had lots of superhero trolls, and did you know that Trolls can be girls too. We also had a sonic zoom Troll #imagination @AlexMcLeodPS
