This draft class is just different. Every single player in the top-16 was a force to be reckoned with, outside of the 3 QBs drafted after Cam. Even Nick Fairley was quite promising before his heart condition came to light and he had to walk away.
Brett Kollmann@BrettKollmann

Anyway while we're on the topic of Julio discourse, the crazy thing is he's one of the best football players to ever exist and he still might go 6th overall in his own draft class if you had to do a re-draft today.

With his [up to] $13m/y contract, Jauan Jennings has a chance to become the NFL’s 33rd-highest earning wide receiver, annually (average), this upcoming year. Just beating out rookie Carnell Tate by *under* $300,000. The WR market isn’t what it used to be—$13m/y is a bargain.

Here’s one of my favorite Keyron Crawford reps (left EDGE on screen); It highlights the Raiders rookie’s creativity as a pass-rusher. He hops to the outside while simultaneously swiping the OT’s hands mid-air to create separation and get around the edge. Arrives just late.

Keyron Crawford gives the Las Vegas Raiders some legitimate pass-rush juice, but his impatience leaves a lot to be desired vs the run. But what happens when Crawford IS patient vs the run? Good things happen:

Fans always hear of Keyron Crawford’s pass-rush ability (as they should), but never hear of his versatility. Here’s a handful of plays, from the same game, where the Raiders rookie was trusted at DT, EDGE, LB, and even slot CB by way of formation. Play 1 - Crawford, at slot, is matched up with a receiver whose role is to block him out of the play and hopefully jam the outside corner in the process to help the pass-catcher pick up some good YAC on this go-throw. Instead, Crawford uses his power to push the blocker into the pass-catcher and blow up the play behind the line of scrimmage. Bully-ball from the new Raiders defender. Play 2 - Crawford lines up inside, in a linebacker stance, and helps execute a stunt perfectly by kicking out to the outside and taking on his blocker + the tackle to free up the edge rusher on his side. The edge rusher runs into traffic up the middle anyway, but Crawford splits both blockers to force the QB to go off-script and it results in a sack. Play 3 - Crawford is at DT, performing another stunt, but this time it’s the edge rusher who sets things up for him as he bounces outside. The edge rusher takes on the blocks, and Crawford uses his bend to get around the traffic jam, arriving to the QB a second too late. Play 4 - Crawford is at EDGE, and partakes in another stunt, but this time he’s the guy who kicks inside. He starts wide where the tackle goes wide to respect Crawford’s athleticism, then quickly cuts back in and easily beats the guard to the spot for a free run at the quarterback. Play 5 - Crawford is lined up at EDGE and is tasked with simply beating the tight end around the corner. The nature of this play is one where the blockers shift right in attempt to get the defense to do the same then quickly throw to the opposite side, so Crawford isn’t truly beating anyone here, but his quickness to get in the quarterback’s face much faster than the QB expects is evident on this one. Play 6 - Crawford is tasked with simply dropping back into coverage and working with a defender’s best friend, the sidelines, to hold his zone. It’s not a note-worthy play necessarily; just another example of the things he was tasked with at Auburn. And he was tasked with dropping back into coverage quite often.
