The Warriors might have fallen in The Finals, but they were never defeated. They lost bodies left and right, but never surrendered.
Don't look at the result -- the Warriors showed they are true champions (via @MontePooleNBCS)

Steph's finger.
Boogie's quad.
Klay's ankle.
Iguodala's calf.
KD's calf.
KD's Achilles.
Klay's knee.
And god knows what else.
It just wasn't in the cards.
Only increasing the anguish coming out of the Warriors organization: Feeling was both Durant and Klay were at their best ever in these playoffs. KD averaged 32 points on 51-44-90 shooting splits. Klay made 59% of 3s in Finals, was a two-way force all playoffs.
The injuries to KD and Klay may actually have brought this Golden State Warriors team a lot closer together. For the first time they saw each other’s so called “invincibility” become not so invincible. The injuries may have fueled everyone to stay together. Talk Soon #Yoda
If I’m the Knicks,
I try to sign both Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson to max contracts this summer.
Allow them both to rehab/redshirt next season.
Enter 2020-21 season with KD and Klay around a core of RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson and Kevin Knox, plus another high lottery pick.
The best part of falling is the ability to get back up. The narrative isn’t over and the @warriors are not done. Every fairytale has a conflict. The greater the conflict, the more beautiful the resolution. The story will continue at the @ChaseCenter@KDTrey5@KlayThompson
The narrative can be epic. KD returns and Warriors win game 5. Game 6 at Oracle for one last hoorah. Back to Toronto to complete a 3 game comeback redeeming the 2016 finals loss. Warriors will be in the history books and it starts tomorrow night! @warriors
