This Stegen loan deal genuinely keeps getting worse with every new detail that comes out. No buy option at all, and what started as them covering one million of his salary has now dropped to just 500k. At this point, we are basically giving away the only real pressure card we had to push Stegen toward leaving, which is the minutes he needs to secure his place for the World Cup, and we are doing it almost for free. He will now get enough minutes to be comfortable about his World Cup spot, and once that happens, he has absolutely no reason to leave in the summer. He can simply stay, sit on the bench, and keep collecting that huge salary. From a sporting and financial perspective, this is an absolute disaster.
