As educators there is an inherent trust to support and help resolve when things go wrong.
Bitching about it in the mess in unhelpful and plain wrong. Well said both.

Blaming & shaming students doesn’t stop them from making mistakes, it stops them from admitting them. If students can’t share them, they can’t learn from them. Instead, the best way to prevent errors is to create an environment where it is safe for students to discuss them.

@AilsaMcMillan1 @rosesusitation We say that other disciplines don’t label. Except they wear different colours to differentiate. However how often in a nursing ward do we hear “they are the band 7” or the CSW can do that.
Power and hierarchy are created by people and these are all artefacts of that culture.

@rosesusitation No other discipline labels people. Unfortunately it is not kind or person-centred and creates questions about power and unsafe cultures.

@rosesusitation So NQPs having the same scope of practice as a paramedic. Why does the label exist? What is it’s purpose? So no they shouldn’t exist.
However, being able to differentiate between different grades of staff quickly does remove cognitive load in high pressure environments.
