Everyone deserves a clean and sanitary neighborhood. No one wants to have rats where they live, work, eat, or play. A bill in my Prosper DC plan called the Rodent Abatement Through Smart Solutions (RATSS) Amendment Act addresses the prevalent rat problem by replacing public litter cans with rodent proof and smart-censored bins and more efficiently protects and replaces residential bins with holes. The dedication of Joe and Mae Hurd All Sports Club Way has been a long time coming and I am so proud join ANC Commissioner Padro, neighbors, and the Hurd family to unveil the new alley name! This renaming honors the legacy of the All Sports Club – one of the foundational institutions in DC’s historic U Street “Black Broadway” corridor. I want to thank the descendants of the Hurd family and Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner @AlexanderMPadro for their hard work and dedication to ensuring this alley honors this neighborhood's rich history while inspiring future generations to continue building community together.
