Don't forget about the first ever @EventModeling open spaces + workshop day! We got going on event modeling the open spaces organization app and website for #comocamp. It'll be a nice exercise to finish and review the complete SDLC using #eventmodeling and #eventsourcing with the participants! Hope to see you there!

Wow! 30+ people all @EventModeling together. Some really experienced developers, UI experts, testers and others at #comocamp have made designing this system a breeze!

Agile's "respond to change" is abused by "were to lazy to design or make proper requirements" or "if we pretend that there are changes, it gives more importance to us managers". 9 times out of 10 it's not actually "responding to customers".

Today I was privileged to help save someone's life. No one was stopping to help this older gentleman who suffered a heart attack. Not many people were in the area at all and people would pass by knowing that it was unlikely that someone else would happen to go to this spot. It took a lot of effort to get first responders. I had to run quite a distance to get to the gate that was locked to the park's only road then lead the paramedics through the rough terrain. I'm happy that I was able to possibly help save a life.

Why the quality of information systems matters: Due to another incident in the area, a broken hovercraft and a locked park gate, it took 2 hours for this person to get medical attention and probably 3 before he was in a hospital. I experienced in real life why I won't relent or compromise on holistic understanding of systems using @EventModeling, reliability that #eventsourcing ensures for all aspects of a system or affordability of open standards/#opensource/#linux. There are logistics issues that caused a lot of critical time to be lost. I know that the systems all people involved here used could be a lot better. Information systems impact our society and its our duty to keep them working to the best of our collective ability. It's why what I teach brings a better default eventually to how everyone works, including these critical systems. The first responders and the 911 operators did an excellent job given the situation and available systems. I thank them for the hours of work that they spent to save a life yesterday. I'm doing my part indirectly to help them.

There was a 30% year-over-year increase in Linux user base. Put another way, 1% of users globally had the net effect of leaving all other operating systems for Linux. The desktop experience is now usable by non-tech thanks to @KubuntuF, @system76 etc techcentral.co.za/linux-on-the-d…

Why #EventModeling and #EventSourcing succeed better than any other approaches: Event Modeling is role-agnostic. Event Sourcing is tech-agnostic. No matter what your job title, you can understand the solution and you can contribute to the solution. No matter what tech stack you use, everyone understands the state of the system as the workflows progress by simply storing events.

I would have never guessed that #EventModeling would spread like wildfire across the world like it did. These are printed event modeling information sheets in Germany. wow. I'm so inspired by how many people are realizing the benefits no matter what language or country.
