MITI has denied claims that all electric vehicles will become unaffordable after tax exemptions for fully imported EVs end in July. Deputy Minister Sim Tze Tzin said only premium fully imported models will be affected by higher prices, while locally assembled EVs in the RM100,000 to RM200,000 range will remain affordable. 🧵1

📌 Starting July 2026, all fully imported electric vehicles entering Malaysia will be subject to two key conditions: • A minimum Cost, Insurance and Freight (CIF) value of RM200,000, replacing the earlier requirement of a RM250,000 selling price. • A minimum motor power requirement of at least 180kW, down from 200kW previously. 🧵1

@BFMradio Fix the fundamentals of public transport reliability first. Any of these proposals are rubbish if no reliable alternative in the first place.

📍🟡 Housing developers should consider reducing the number of parking spaces in new projects near public transport stations, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said last December. 📌 Loke said that this would apply only to new developments and primarily target young residents living near urban rail networks. 📌 “If they live near public transport stations, the necessity of owning a car may be reduced. This can also help lower their living expenses." 📌 He also noted that several transit-oriented developments in KL have already been allowed to apply for relaxation of parking requirements from local authorities. 🧵 1/9

@Lonebo11 The robber's name in this short film is Connie. He thought the heist went perfectly... until the epic screw-up with the note, his brother bolting, and the rest. Classic "what not to do" vibes. 😭

Animal welfare groups have accused local councils of extortion for imposing high bail-out fees on stray dogs and threatening to put the animals down if the fees are not paid. This comes after GHRF president S Shashi Kumar was charged RM2,000 by DBKL to secure the release of a stray dog. “They tell you, if you don’t take the dog out now, in 15 minutes you can’t see it anymore," he said. 🧵1

An Asian freshman student at a high school in California was bullied and physically attacked by an older white student known as a “super senior” (a student who has repeated multiple school years). The Asian girl was seen crying and begging her to stop. Later, a Black student named Keshanti learned about the situation and confronted the bully outside the school, leading to a physical altercation and harsh words directed at her, telling her: “Go fight someone your own size.” The school initially threatened to expel Keshanti, but after widespread outrage and backlash on social media, the decision was reversed.
