This is so sad. As someone who comes from a strong hockey background with family who loves the game, it is hard to see something awful happen to someone playing the sport they love. I hope there is further investigation to give the family the justice they deserve. Prayers <3

JUST IN: Police are investigating the death of hockey player Adam Johnson after he got slashed in the neck by opposing team member Matt Petgrave's skate. Online social media users are split on whether the kick was intentional or an accident. It is currently not completely clear if police are specifically investigating Petgrave's involvement, but they stated it is “normal procedure” and are investigating the “circumstances surrounding the incident.” “Our officers remain at the scene carrying out inquiries. Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing,” the South Yorkshire Police said. “We would encourage the public to avoid speculation regarding the incident while we continue our inquiries.” I am including the video leading up to the incident so you can make the determination on your own. I will not be playing the whole clip due to the gore of the incident.

EM203 has been a very interesting and enjoyable! I think it is very unique how it uses Twitter to show that we can learn through social media. Although we live in a digital age, I am new to Twitter and thus I have enjoyed learning and using this new skill set! #EM203Robin

@Timme2554Aidan I agree. It is difficult for the education system to decide what works for each student. It is important that we are attempting to adhere to different learning styles but it is also the responsibility of the youth to figure out which style works for them and speak up.

I have really enjoyed the first three weeks of this course! Learning about the digital world and it’s connection to the way students learn in todays world has been really interesting, especially considering the fact that it’s a way of learning we can all relate too. #EM203robin

@EM203aswent I agree, it is interesting to see how we can use social media for different aspects of our lives including learning. Although social media has a negative stigma, the newer generations are figuring out more useful applications that are beneficial to learners.

I really enjoyed reading the first three weeks of lessons. I found it interesting learning about how we use a digital environment and media sources in school. It was also intriguing how media can help with different learning styles. #EM203Robin

@aroesEM203 I totally agree. We are using an archaic teaching technique that does not adhere to the different learning styles of the upcoming youth. We have advanced as a society yet haven't found a way to make sure everyone can reach their full potential.
