@WhiteHouse It's funny because this show is explicitly making fun of people like trump. What could is possible cost? Ten dollars?

@KSHawkeye1980 @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped What do I do if I want internet but don't want to use the only ISP I have? What about the local electricity monopoly? There is a reason you can't opt out of government by the way. Do you know what that reason is?

@Alexzoin @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped I beg to differ. The biggest difference is that a person can choose to not spend their money on a corporation. They cannot choose to not give their money to the gov't. The profit motive is the representation. W/o customers, there is no profit. We don't have that option with gov't

@KSHawkeye1980 @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped Before we move on, the lesson from the Cobra Bounty thing is not that government is bad. The lesson is that bad rules structures create bad incentives. You have to be careful when you are making rules. The difference is the profit motive and no representation.

@Alexzoin @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped That was pointed out by Scott Adams in his book "The Dilbert Principle" in the 90's. Now for a thought exercise. What's a major difference between major corporations and gov't? (Hint, it has something to do with the ability to not interact)

@TimHannan That’s not what MAGA told you. They said they didn’t want it to be forced on them or have their ability to hold a job, go to a bar, museum, restaurant, etc to be contingent upon them taking it, you dipshit.

@Alexzoin @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped Ooh, so very close. The one thing they have in common is people. It might be splitting hairs to say people instead of individuals, but I'm going with that. And the problem with people is that some of them harbor ill intent.

@KSHawkeye1980 @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped Tons of things. Hierarchical power structures, reliance on capital to function, composed of individuals. I am not sure exactly what you are referring to though. I'll be disappointed if this is a vague appeal to "largeness."

@Alexzoin @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped And what does private enterprise and gov't have in common? Let's see if you can guess the common thread that I'm referring to. Then I'll address the examples you gave.

@Alexzoin @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped Swing and a miss. I understand the necessity of gov't. I do not agree with the belief that gov't should be the answer for many or all of society's ills. The old quote of gov't at best is a necessary evil, and at its worst is just evil comes to mind.

@KSHawkeye1980 @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped I'm not "blurring" anything. Even if I describe to you an entirely fraudless perfectly functioning government program you will still disagree with it because you are principally opposed to functional governance. You don't care about the fraud, you hate government.

@Alexzoin @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped It seems as though you wish to overlook the fraud that is being mentioned. Whether gift or grant, fraud is fraud and is not a societal good. Stop trying to bring pointless comparisons to try and blur the conversation.

@KSHawkeye1980 @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped The fact that you don't understand the distinction is the source of our disagreement. I can recognize that the allocation of public funds can result in a societal good and you cannot. It's the core of the argument. I know we can buy in bulk to get a better deal and you don't.

@Alexzoin @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped The difference is inconsequential in regards to this conversation. Either way the results are the same. Why would you try to obfuscate the point by trying to play semantics unless you know that I'm right and you don't want to admit it?

@Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped You are using your position in time as immutable reality. There were probably people like you upset on the day they decided to pay for sewers with tax money saying it was a waste of funds. In 100 years someone like you will be saying the same thing about grocery stores.

Do right-wingers tweet like illiterate teenagers because they're dumb or is it because they are LLMs with instructions to make errors so they are more believable? How hard is it to use new lines and punctuation?

@Alexzoin @MarketsTapped Imagine attacking a guy who pays property taxes on a $238M home and uses none of the city services. He's basically giving NYC free money on a home that virtually no one else can afford. But you dorks can't do simple math, so it's expected.

@Alexzoin @Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped So grants don't exist? The feeding the future program in MN didn't receive any tax payer money? Funny thing about employment, if you don't believe you're getting a fair wage, you have the freedom to seek employment elsewhere. By accepting a job, you agree to the wage.

@Chanogram85 @MarketsTapped You're right. They should just cut all of the road repairs too. That's too expensive. Powerline maintenance seems stupid too, must be expensive. Why even bother with waste treatment, people could dump sewage on the streets for free. No need to waste the money. Lower taxes!

@Alexzoin @MarketsTapped Call or whatever the bell you want. My point is that it's added expenses for the city. Which makes it harder to balance the budget, since they don't have extra income (without raising taxes). You can't be this slow to not see my point here.
