@JustJoshinNH @annamaria1word Both of my parents were avid readers and instilled it in me early on. There’s a photo of me as a baby on my dad’s legs propped up as he reads the newspaper between us. Another where he and I are propped against a chair, with both of us reading books & our legs crossed at the knee

I simply can’t imagine my childhood without books. I was surrounded by them. Encouraged to read early and often. My grandmother took us to the bookstore, not the toy store, and we all loved going. Ignoring a book is worse than burning it.
Soledad Francis PhD@SoledadFrancis

Children don't read because their parents don't read. We'll soon be led by an entire generation that has never cracked open a book. Not a single book in the home. This frightens me more than the idea of nuclear threat or a foreign power attacking us. We're imploding from within.

@istevejansen Although it was mostly just pressing references, now and again you’d get little messages on that inner section. Missed that sort of thing when we left vinyl behind.

Noting track lengths this gold disc looks like the B-side~cutting engineers etch the Cat. No.(V2209) on the centre of the vinyl pressing metalwork~we can see the same number on both~B refers to the B-side~followed by the pressing number~1 being the first~check out your vinyl🧐

@istevejansen @karma_chame @MichaelfmArt I never really thought of that concept. Looking at the grooves, spacing between tracks, and maybe size of each track, to get an idea of what album it is. That's pretty cool.

@istevejansen I was watching the JBK performance (Astoria 1997) and wondered if your snare was set off to the side a bit more from the rest of the kit than usual? Was that a left-handed thing or just for that particular tour? Or just an optical illusion? youtu.be/L0-FYN7SzcE?si…

@AliBess I was using 2 snares on the JBK gigs - one in the usual position between the legs and the other the left side of the hi-hat

Watching Great Britain Castle Rescue and the Scottish castle has a murrrderrr hole, of course. Though at 1390, it’s also a little bit younger than the street I lived on in Utrecht, NL. Also a little bit younger than the “New Canal” in Utrecht, as well. 😄#history

@AliBess ‘Daichū’ mainly sold Chinese-style goods. They had clothes too—like cheongsam dresses, haha. It was really popular with young Japanese girls!

It’s Mother’s Day and purely by chance on a visit to the parents I happened to stumble upon this early 60s handmade card~what a coincidence!

For those who followed me when my husband and I had Vino Veritas in Utrecht, if you find the Adam Richman Eats Italy series (episode 7) when he’s in Bologna, you’ll see the Simoni store when he talks of mortadella. That’s the artisanal shop where we bought our meats & cheese.

At least a year ago Musicposters asked to make this product using my photos~I'd forgotten all about it~sweaty band badges and shots taken in Thailand on a boat tour represents everything that was 'The Art of Parties' single sleeve artwork (me by Mick) musicposters.store/shop/p/the-art…
