hmmmmm you are jumping the gun here, nowhere in my tweet did I say the word NEW. I might have been referring to Smash Ultimate Switch 2 edition, I might have been referring to Smash Bros Melee or Brawl on NSO, I didn't specifically say a new Smash game in 2027/2028 and for good reason.

A new Super Smash Bros. game is reportedly releasing as early as 2027, per Kiwi Talkz Masahiro Sakurai is rumored to be working on the game since finishing Kirby Air Riders

@kiwitalkz I would prefer for them to develop more games on the scale of astrobot as well. The way AAA game dev is going nowadays it's better to focus on smaller scale games.

Sony are in a tricky spot because they are essentially stuck between a rock and a hard place. They have conditioned their audience to expect highly graphical cinematic games yet that isn't really sustainable with the cost of development as it is (and only rising) Astro Bot is my favorite Sony game of all time and I personally would prefer they pulled back on the scale a bit on their games but sales show that isn't what the PS audience wants. The cost of game development essentially doubles every generation so I have no idea how Sony is going to manage these massive budgets in the PS6 generation. Given the size of Naughty Dog now, salaries in LA being so high, the amount of time it's been in development, plus overheads and marketing I could easily see Intergalactic costing over $400 million.

@piresismid @UltraMoonTrain They're both labelled wifi2 and wifi1/bt so probabaly for wireless capabilities. Since it also doesn't have a battery and needs the wii u like power connector maybe it doesn't have a WiFi or bt card either and needs to be manually plugged in. It also mentions wired/wireless

@KirPinkFury I'm actually glad Sony stopped porting games to PC. Exclusives are what sell hardware. Especially after the whole thing about the ps5 having no exclusive games. The reason the Switch sells so well is because of its Nintendo exclusive games.

@KirPinkFury I think arms could be given another chance, there's various ways they can improve it from the previous one and now that EP9 is done with mk world maybe they can move onto developing an arms sequel since it's the same dev team.

Happy for Splatoon, but ARMS, Sushi Strikers, and Ring Fit Adventure deserve better. Ring Fit Adventure sold incredibly well, at least. I guess Nintendo will continue with it somehow. Sushi Strikers is a gem. On my list of top ten favorite Switch 1 titles.

@OctaDatamine Interesting to hear your take on it. I had assumed that AC would've been in dev alongside raiders since it's been longer since its release in 2020. If "owl" is splat 4 then that would also mean that AC is years out if it's not even started dev.

I have returned after a long time on this, but I genuinely think Owl is going to be Splat 4 since Spiral is Raiders so yeah, Splat 4 has probably been in development for some time, maybe even alongside Raiders, doubt this is a new Animal Crossing but who knows.

@KirPinkFury I hope missing a February direct this year was because they felt they didn't have enough to reveal and just decided to space out reveals using Nintendo Today. I don't mind them using it to show release dates, just hope we have more reveals during directs rather than shadow drops.

Ngl, the potential prospect of getting less Nintendo Directs in a year makes me sad.

I wonder if Mario Tennis Fever being 70 bucks was a bit of a wake up call to Nintendo that not every game can be charged at that price so they’re experimenting more with lower priced stuff Cause I remember hearing it sold decently lower than Aces did at launch

@SplatwtConfess this game got leaked in summer 2024 and probably begun development a while before then. i doubt we have anything to worry about😭😭

@Master0fHyrule I recommend you to give it a try. Especially since it's single player only and it's different from the online multiplayer focused games in the series and if those weren't your cup of tea then this'll be different.

I'll give Splatoon Raiders a try but I'm not excited for it.
