@Nervardia Pretty much my objection to those types is the shame culture they promote. That extreme rhetoric is born of strong feelings, but the truth is while individual boycotting on a large scale produces innovation in the food market toward alternatives, it'll never end factory farming.

@Nervardia supplementation (always b12 and sometimes iron or calcium), but it is practical. It's just not easy. You have to cook and plan a lot, and you need to be willing to eat a wide variety of foods, often in larger quantities to get the micros you need. It's doable. Just not easy. P

While I have no view on his dietary choices, the replies in this thread is awful. The amount of vitriol towards him from his vegan followers is obscene.

@CobaltGrizzly Went into urgent care today, more expectorants and got a refill on the long acting inhaler. He also gave me some stronger cough medicine to help get me through the night.

Okay #doctorsoftwitter I nerd help. My doc is scheduling out weeks later. Went to the er two days ago, they gave me 60 mg prednisone, 1 atrovent hfa inhaler, and high dose guaifenecin. If on day 3 (no taper on script) my right lung is still cracking, should I go back in?

@CobaltGrizzly Thank you! I've just been worried because it hasn't cleared up yet even though my fever seems to be gone. Hopefully my body clears it out with the help of the meds and lots and lots of running the shower with the door shut to steam myself and break it up.

Finding myself spending way more time on Mastodon than I ever did here. If you enjoy my random musings, you should check it out. It's a much calmer community, and so far I haven't seen the issues on my instance folks have been worried about with poc harassment/censorship.

Been playing around with Mastodon. Reminds me a lot of Reddit if it tried to look like twitter. A lot more interaction. I haven't seen as much of the "white fragility" issues on my instance, but I also haven't been around very long so jury's out on that.

I'm pro vaccine, but man. Day 2 after the bivalent and I feel like someone beat my whole a** and made me work out afterward. Brutal. Get the vaccine anyway.

@Aliakai exactly! and while i can't think of an example offhand, i'm fairly sure there are examples of "you're more beautiful than goddess X" in love poetry... you just don't want to be going around saying that as a statement of fact outside of a moment of passion!

there needs to be a word for this kind of pagan - someone who is asked "is it okay to say someone is as pretty as Aphrodite" and responds "NOBODY IS COMPARABLE TO THE GODS". instantly proving they have never read -the iliad -the odyssey -any ancient love poetry

@SartrixMartiana Hell, people were sometimes appointed as priests because they looked a lot like the statues that were popular in the day and Gods frequently impersonated Their priests in myth.
