At the same time, Kalshi recession odds just fell to their lowest level (18%) since the pool launched in July last year. Peak euphoria. Everyone suddenly believes there’s no recession, no risk, and AI will carry markets forever...

CMC Research reviewed key cross-asset signals, and the divergence is telling 👇 1. BNB is the top-performing asset among the top 5 coins YTD, posting positive returns while BTC, ETH, SOL, and XRP remain flat to negative. 2. Crypto-related equities (miners and proxies) have generally outperformed BTC on a YTD basis, with Coinbase showing relatively weaker performance. 3. Gold has extended its YTD rally (+~17.8%), with spot prices clearing ~$5,133/oz and setting fresh all-time highs. BTC remains pressured around the ~$80k level, but repeated failures to break lower suggest a tentative short-term base. Gold’s strength reflects persistent risk-off / fear-driven positioning, while sustained BTC upside likely requires a visible return of greed-led risk appetite. 4. The broader macro backdrop points to late-stage deleveraging, driven by tariff rhetoric, U.S. fiscal brinkmanship, USD/JPY near multi-month highs, and rising U.S. shutdown risk. The current conditions seem removed from the liquidity-rich environment that powered the 2020–21 crypto bull market.

macro sets the direction, flows set the speed, and on-chain tells you if it’s sustainable.

I'm happy we intro'd at this time. In a bleeding market, $CMC20 gives structure to chaos. You don’t rely on luck - you rely on market breadth. For many retail users who get whipsawed by volatility, this may be the most disciplined way to stay exposed until momentum comes back. My thinking- to Web3Man's credit: 1. No FOMO hunts, no panic rotations. You track the market’s core strength, not the noise around it. 2. Bear-market friendly. Index products tend to compress less during downturns and expand strongly when liquidity returns. If we do get a macro bounce, the CMC20 will likely capture it efficiently. 3. Still upside - but controlled. You’re not max-risk like degen microcaps…But you’re not stuck in a single large-cap like BTC or ETH either. 4. Diversification works. Instead of betting on one narrative, one team, or one hype cycle, you get exposure to the top 20 assets by market relevance. Historically, diversified baskets recover faster than isolated alts. When the market comes back again, we will witness the greatest ALT season.
