(Once he has fully regained his original appearance, Viktor picks his legs up and curls into a ball in the chair. He fixes his eyes on Rio floating before him in dreamless sleep.)

(Exhaustion hits him hard.)

(In his distraught state, he somehow finds the ability to revert his skin even further. Focusing his energy onto his disgust of this form, the metal recedes and is replaced by his normal skin.)

(After several hours of cutting wires and unhooking various monitors and cameras, Jayce and Viktor pull the ship into a desolate clearing and activate the cloaking.
The area they picked is full of large trees which will make for a good hiding spot.)

(Jayce's expression is serious. Viktor hesitates, eyes shifting to Xe, who makes no attempt to deny it. Jayce continues with a heavy sigh.)
Jayce: *I've had a lot of time to think since we got back. I will be imprisoned.*

Xe: *The list of your transgressions seemingly knows no bounds, Talis.*
(They both turn as Xe saunters onto the bridge, his hands cuffed in front of him.)
Xe: *Ignoring the retrieval deadline, refusing to stand down to protocol 0-356, assault which rendered me unconscious.*

(As he gets closer to Jayce, he begins to recognize the signs of exhaustion. His partner is slouched, hair disheveled, and leaning heavily on his arms at the helm. Viktor reaches out telepathically in the gentlest tone he can manage.)
*Jayce.*

(Although he was faster and stronger in his evolved form, Viktor isn't sure he wants to experience it again. There was something about having that much power that felt almost... too good. Dangerous.
Viktor dresses himself and makes his way out to the bridge.)

(Viktor sits up straight in bed, heart beating wildly behind his ribs. He looks around, eyes wide, as he takes in his surroundings.)

(There's an uneasy feeling at the edges of his mind from his dream, but try as he might, he can't recall it.)
