1 in 4 kids in Wales goes to a Welsh medium school. Many of their parents are not Welsh speakers.
So much of this success is down to a deliberately welcoming approach when under threat. Precisely the opposite reaction to what often happens. It’s a story of joy and hope

Reform achieved this despite their former leader in Wales being convicted for taking pro Russian bribes in November.. whilst another recent defectee has been arrested for allegedly spying for China. Do the electorate not care or would they have done even better without it?

I have contacted SNP leader John Swinney and Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth to congratulate them on their enormous mandates. For the first time ever, there could be three pro-independence First Ministers across these islands. More and more people are looking towards a future beyond the constraints of the Union. I look forward to continuing to build the friendship between the people of our nations, and to working closely with both John and Rhun in the time ahead.

This is fair. Dreadful hand. Played badly. It’s a LONG time since I was a young woman in Welsh politics. But Eluned was always welcoming and kind. Politics in general needs more like her.

On a personal level, I feel sorry for Eluned Morgan. It was a big deal that she was the first woman to be First Minister. Say what you want about her, but to suggest the Labour result is just down to her is wrong. She was dealt a terrible hand, both from the group in the Senedd she inherited and by the relentless apathy of her colleagues in London. She didn't take a healthy Welsh Labour Party and make it sick. While there were huge shortcomings in how she led the Welsh Government, the seeds of today WERE PLANTED LONG AGO. If Labour try to pin this all on her and fail to learn lessons, they will continue in their spiral.

We will know much more about inter- and inter-bloc switching over the course of the day. But ultimately if you are losing in both directions it’s because people think you are crap. Pivoting one way or another won’t help you if the total consensus is you’ve stuffed it.

Very cool analysis of the submissions to a major management journal that shows how much the system of science, built for humans, is under strain as a result of AI.
AI can be used to do better science or it can be used to just do more stuff. The danger is that "more" is winning
