@Liz_ORiordan I saw my 17 year old brother in his coffin. He died in a climbing accident. We couldn't see his injuries but it wasn't like him at all, so white and still. He had been so very full of life & happy. It took us a while to think of him like that again.

Feeling a little bit broken. As many of you know Dad dropped dead 2 weeks ago when I was on holiday. I needed to see him to say goodbye in the chapel of rest. But the lovely funeral director has kindly advised that given the changes that happen with time, they only recommend I say goodbye to Dad with a closed coffin.

I’ve done this - reported illegal dredging in a closed area. Nothing happened. It very seldom does. Last time I saw fisheries protection officers at work they were distributing leaflets to moored dinghies warning private boat owners not to overfish. Unbelievable, but true.

In the forthcoming general election ask candidates and their campaigners what they will be doing to radically accelerate land reform in Scotland. That, either by boosting funding, or by political moves that will add bite that is so far deficient in the 2024 land reform bill.

It's difficult to accept cuts like this when you consider that @scotgov hasn't yet implemented the taxation recommendations of its own Land Reform Review Group. More than 10 years after they were made. So it's not about lack of money, it's about lack of will.

Blown away by this review of Night Train to Odesa - the abridged Radio 4 version which starts on Monday - "tremendous eloquence, vividness and humanity". Found in the current @RadioTimes.

@Dr_BellaR Dumfries and Galloway- particularly along the Wigtownshire coast-line. Beautiful, long history, friendly folk, lots of lovely places to eat. I'm pretty scruffy & don't feel out of place.

This by @jm_stout is incredible, beautifully written, unlike other books on 🇺🇦 it reads like a memoir. Highly recommend!
