@librarythingtim @LibraryThing I think I joined after seeing that Guardian write up! I had no idea it was such a new website at the time. I’ve been cataloguing what I read on it ever since.

@lauravarnam Bad Sisters on Apple is lots of fun. Also Silo if you like post-apocalyptic stuff.

@KirkdaleBooks Hmm yes that’s not one of the best for me, though a bit shorter than some I guess, so maybe a practical book group choice.

@AlisonSakai We read "The Italian Girl" here in 2015—possibly not the right choice for any people who hadn't read Murdoch before, even though it had its moments.

@Andr6wMale Ugh, so not the right tone for this topic. I regularly go up to Manchester and over the years have done with baby, toddler, buggy, luggage, aging parents and combinations thereof. The whole set up is a disgrace made worse by how often Avanti cancel trains or cancel reservations.

An often terrifying situation that will one day result in someone's death, 'The Euston Dash' is a curious thing to make light of. Maybe the programme itself will address the serious safety issues at Euston and reference incidents like the March 17 near-tragedy.
BBC Radio 4@BBCRadio4

“It sums up the stress of being a rail user in Britain today” Johnny I’Anson takes on the ‘Euston Dash’ to find out what it’s like to travel on one of the most important rail lines in the country. Off-Peak performance | Listen on BBC Sounds

Today... Crystal finished up yoga & headed home only to be confronted by a dinosaur. Miraculously pepper spray worked longed enough for her to make her escape. She gave sanctuary to a man hiding out in her front garden, but before his tea was cold he transformed into a dinosaur.

@rlahoda @oldenoughtosay First thing popping to my head is The Corner That Held Them by Sylvia Townsend Warner, though it is a set in a nunnery rather than a cathedral

Hi @oldenoughtosay, I was wondering if you know of any good cathedral-themed or medieval-themed novels. Looking for something new to read and not sure where to find good options.
