WORLD CUP WASPS | 🐝 🏆 Former Alloa stars Ross Stewart and Scott McKenna have been called up for @FIFAWorldCup ‘26. They will become the first former Alloa players to feature in a World Cup since Tommy Hutchinson who represented Scotland at World Cup ‘74 in west Germany.

VAR IN THE PREMIERSHIP | I’ve been seeing a lot of people talking about how referees are too scared to make crucial decisions and rely on VAR to make decisions for them… I have sat for all of 5 minutes thinking of a solution and I think it’s pretty simple ⬇️⬇️⬇️

If VAR continues the way it’s going, you may as well get rid of referees all together. Football is all about unpredictability, sometimes referees get decisions wrong, I get that, but isn’t that what our game is all about…? It’s entertainment, dont rob us for boring decisions.

For instance - Kilmarnock are awarded penalty against St mirren in the final seconds of a match, St mirren captain disagrees with decision, VAR intervene and confirm correct decision was made. Possibly even limit the amount of appeals a captain/manager can make in a game.

Why doesn’t the SFA remove communication channels from on field referees to the VAR control room, leave the VAR monitor at the side of the pitch and allow managers and captains ONLY to contest a decision, then and only then could a referee have a VAR intervention.

@JockShepshed @spfl Spot on, I think it will be close at the top end of the table until march/April but I think we have enough to push through this year.

@AllThingsAlloa @spfl Between Alloa and QoS to win it, yes Ross will have a rebuild but so will everybody else, that's what summer is for, everybody will jiggle things about a bit. Think Alloa not far off with what we have

Partick Thistle are reportedly interested in Alloa star Cameron O'Donnell. The midfielder turned left back has been in the Alloa squad since he was 19 making over 150 appearances and is known for his crossing ability

@BaileyWelsh5 I think this season we’ve layed the foundations for having a punt at the league title. At this point I think it’ll be between us, QOTS and Ross county.

@AllThingsAlloa We fucking smoked airdrie in both legs County will be difficult but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them follow Inverness into administration

Already hearing that we’re being doubted for a top 4 finish next season. Top 4 finish 3 times in the last 4 seasons by the way… People thinking Airdrie and Ross County are going to make a big change in proceedings to the already established league 1 clubs… Opinions?

@JockShepshed Agree with you there however Ross county will be 100% looking to go back up after a summer rebuild.

@AllThingsAlloa Yeah, I'd rather be up too, but am pretty good about next season, Inverness and Stenny were a good dozen points and more ahead of everyone else, and they're out the way, Ross are no great shakes and we showed Airdrie the door, reckon it's between us and QotS surely
