She’s already an addict, and she’ll surely turn to him as soon as she needs him (and he was proven right last chapter). But what do Kayn’s lustful glances matter if, in the end, Jinx is in love with Ekko’s humanity?

Ekko is the barrier between him and what he truly wants (Jinx), but it’s her addiction that works in his favor—which is why, when they’re at the hospital, Kayn simply walks away from Jinx, unconcerned about the possibility that Jinx might not come back to him.

From the moment they meet, he proves to be a bad influence on Jinx; he’s the one who introduces her to the world of drugs through sleeping pills and made her work her way up with them without warning her of the consequences—because it wasn’t in his best interest for Jinx to know
