I guess the one thing that didn’t make sense to me about today was that the Yankees had Schlittler on an 80 pitch count, so they pulled him. But then they let Bednar go out and throw 40 pitches. It was like they were protecting Cam, but they were willing to let Bednar throw as many pitches as he needed to close out the game. If we’re worried about taxing arms this early in the season, 40 pitches for a reliever on 4/1 is a lot. Bednar is the closer and the best option to close the game there. But Schlittler was also the best option to finish the 7th. It’s one of those situations where the Yankees are operating with more information than I am, so I’m sure there’s a reason for it. But on the face of it, it didn’t make sense to me why they were protecting Cam but not Bednar.

@DanBFox1287 It’s one of the all time under-performances I’ve ever seen. This lineup’s performed at about 20% for the tournament. Never got remotely rolling. Horrible job this team did. Not one game this tournament did I think they rolled, not even Brazil
