They almost got me again. Back in hospital for another week or so but alive. First mission back yesterday, a russian FPV had me until it hit a tree branch and exploded above by head on the descent. Better luck next time fools. Victory is Ukraine.

The narrative of exceptional Ukrainian resilience is one of the most harmful tropes I’ve seen during this war. ​Yes, we refuse to give up. Yes, we have picnics in -15°C. Yes, we keep living, drinking coffee, and even laughing occasionally, but all of this stems from a lack of choice. ​We are no more resilient than any other nation. You cannot expect us to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders while being bombed and burying our friends, only to pat us on the back for how well we take the hit. ​Ukrainian resilience is not exceptional, this narrative only creates the illusion that we can withstand anything. In reality, we are just normal people caught in an awful situation, who needs help, not a pat on the shoulder.

Russia is attacking Kyiv’s power plants with drones and missiles. There are also multiple hits on residential buildings. I saw a video, a building that looks terrifyingly similar to ours. I called my granny. She is sitting in the corridor, terrified, while explosions continued outside. The attack is still ongoing. I can’t put into words what it feels like to be away from home, scrolling through videos of damaged buildings, knowing that your granny is there – waiting, listening to explosions, not knowing what comes next. This is terror. This is what Russia does. Vile, disgusting criminals.

I do not want a corrupt country for myself or my future children. I do not want this to be the country that the Ukrainian people died for. When you, our Western partners, look at us, you must see more than just victims of Russian aggression. You should see a society that is bleeding on the frontlines, but at the same time desperately fighting to root out corruption from within. Support not just “Ukraine”, support this struggle. Demand reforms and accountability as loudly as we demand weapons. Because without defeating our internal corruption, military victory alone will not secure the free, democratic, and just future our people are fighting and dying for. 8/8

THIS IS A FUCKING DISGRACE. As an ex-public servant, to see the news this week about the enrichment and corruption which was uncovered within the government I served has been a deeply shocking experience which left me very sad and ashamed. I don't want my country, my people, and my future children to be trapped in a system which allows these things to happen.
