@AlldoJ @DrKhorshidM This one is a multi centre cohort study comparing standard care with intervention (bundle). We have been using this bundle in my unit for 5 years now and we have the lowest IVH rate in Scotland! I’m sure you know RCTs are not always feasible for neonates. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31732682/

@DrKhorshidM Bundles are meant to be ways of ensuring we reliably provide evidence based care. Use of bundles to bring in unproven and potentially harmful practices is problematic. We mustn't let understandable enthusiasm for QI undo years of progress towards evidence based practice.

@NICU_Musings Interesting indeed. The reduction in time on the ventilator looks huge- suggesting very different patient groups. Even with relatively small numbers that’s odd.

Qualifiers 1. Not blinded 2. Infants in manual control arm about 1 week younger 3. Small RCT of 70 infants Will need larger trials to confirm results but certainly interesting!
