Since joining our department in 2005, Detective Sergeant Bleeke has been the definition of dedication and versatility. After moving to our Criminal Investigation Division in 2021, he's proven time and again that he's not just good at his job...he excels at multiple jobs. SWAT Team Leader? Yep. System Administrator? Got it. Instructor? Of course. That guy who somehow handles ten jobs at once and makes it look easy? That's him. Whether he's leading tactical ops, cracking cases, teaching, or fixing our tech issues (again), Bleeke just gets it done. Congrats on the promotion, Sergeant! Sergeant Joe Cox, Jr. was responding to an accident involving a vehicle and a horse-drawn buggy when one of the buggy's occupants was ejected. After assisting at the scene, Sergeant Cox went above and beyond...driving the buggy's driver home and speaking with the driver's parents to ensure they were okay. Tragically, after returning to his squad car, he suffered a fatal heart attack. 📷 Sergeant Cox's final act was one of compassion and service...making sure someone in crisis was safely returned to their family. That was who he was. 📷 Today, we remember his dedication, his kindness, and his sacrifice.
