After 8.5 years working on apartment defects issue it's great - at last - to be discussing draft legislation to tackle the problem before @OireachtasNews Housing Committee last night. oireachtas.ie/en/oireachtas-… A lot of work to be done yet.

Remembering those who died at Grenfell Tower eight years ago today. Their tragic and needless deaths due to greed, carelessness, indifference and lack of respect. Here in Ireland we've only avoided such a tragedy by the grace of God. Time to legislate for defects remediation.

Draft PFG was published yesterday and it follows through on commitments made by all parties during #GE2024 Thanks to @fiannafailparty and @FineGael negotiators @AllianceDefects looks forward to working with incoming Government to getting full defects remediation scheme sorted

Great to have a full set of ✅ from the most of the parties. Especially important for @FineGael to acknowledge ongoing issues around dispute resolution, service charges and sinking funds, given the party’s ministerial responsibility for our sector since 2011.
