I’m excited to announce that I am running for State Senate in District 13.  I’m running because working families like ours deserve a senator who will fight for them.

This morning @AndrewSweatman and I got to wake the kids up to GOOD NEWS: we won! And we’re not done yet. To everyone who worked to help us win this primary, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Now it’s time to flip this seat for working Arkansans and their families. Onward!

I am thrilled to see Democrat Alex Holladay flip the first seat of the cycle in Arkansas, winning big to become the next State Representative for North Little Rock and Sherwood. He’ll do a great job! #arpx #arleg

We were out in Sherwood knocking doors this afternoon before the Big Game! There’s nothing better than connecting with SD13 voters about the issues that matter most to them. Today we had great conversations about strengthening public education, lowering the cost of childcare, and the importance of staying connected to our local communities in today’s political climate. Arkansans are ready for change, and I’m committed to just that. #sd13 #ags2026 #arpx

Racist. Deranged. Humiliating to our country. The fact that we have decided to pretend to this is normal every day is a moral abomination. Have we any shame? And every day an entire generation is being told it is “Christian” to support this. God have mercy on us.

Happy Black History Month, Arkansas! Thank you to the Black Arkansans who have made our state into the place we know and love so much ✨ We’ve truly got so much to celebrate— and so much work left to do to achieve the equitable future that the Natural State deserves 🧡

Pulaski County Special School District
All PCSSD schools will be closed on Monday, February 2. Our maintenance crews have made great strides in clearing walkways and parking lots at our facilities, as well as monitoring travel on city and county roadways, and we appreciate their hard work.

@depayser I JUST told my fellow park hill friends I wish I had my four wheeler to go pick them up to come drink hot chocolate. They’re gonna have to hoof it instead.

Being a free range Southern white boy, I should be out in my F350 4WD cutting it up in the snow. Alas, age brings sensibilities and at almost 70, I'm sitting it out. I did not even uncover the side by side. It is a shame that youth is wasted on the young.

Young family a few blocks from us has chickens. They have become my egg vendor. I'll never be able to eat grocery store eggs again. No comparison.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I am always grateful for how Dr. King’s words bring hope and urgency as we face the inequality of today. May we take both of those values into the work ahead. #arpx #mlkday

Stephen Colbert on the ICE murder of Renee Good: “The message from this administration is clear. Only they determine the truth. And when their forces come to your city, obey or die. And if you die, you clearly didn’t obey. This should be an alarm bell for the entire country.”

I can’t stop thinking about how Renee Good’s son woke up without a mother today. His father passed in 2023 as well. I weep for our country and pray for that precious child to have the support and love of his community for the rest of his life. It has come to this, widowed mothers being murdered in the streets for protecting their neighbors. It can be hard to see through the fog of shock and devastation of this moment. So what do we do once we’re ready to mobilize, ready to act? The way forward is solidarity with our neighbors who feel especially threatened and unsafe in this rise of authoritarian power. The way forward is community-building organizing that keeps our common goals and future in mind. The way forward is to rest when we can and lean on our people for support. And the way forward is to do what it takes to vote out every single elected official sitting in power and refusing to call this heinous act exactly what it is. There is not a need to “wait for all the facts.” We all saw this scene from multiple angles. If you’re sitting in office and saying any version of that, out loud or in private, or if you are parroting the bullshit lies coming from the White House, you are not protecting the people you serve. You are floundering to protect your own power, and you deserve to lose it as soon as possible. God be with Renee’s son, her family, the people of Minneapolis, and every American reeling from the devastation and anger of witnessing this tragedy. May her memory be a blessing and fuel for the work we all must do to take back the country we love.
