Wishing a very happy Easter to Christians across the UK and around the world, as they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As we look to the future with hope, I want to thank Christians for their huge contributions to our country.

@iainoverton @Jacob_Rees_Mogg Didn’t all countries who used slaves?? By the way the Egyptians and the romans used slaves!!
English

@Jacob_Rees_Mogg The British profited from slavery for over 200 years before abolition - and essentially only banned it when it became clear it was no longer economically useful. Celebrating Mansfield while ignoring centuries of brutality isn't history, it's revisionism.
English

The wokerati want you to believe that the British were most at fault for slavery. In actual fact, all empires had slaves, but it was the British who put a stop to it. And who gave the seminal judgement that was the first step to abolition? It was William Murray, 1st Earl of Mansfield. Find out more by subscribing today: letters.jacobreesmogg.com/p/william-murr…
