For Dave's belated birthday episode we gathered around the swirling tube of liquid evil and watched John Carpenter's 1987, "The Prince of Darkness". Our cocktail was tasty enough, though it COULD have looked SO much cooler . . . buzzsprout.com/679904/episode…

Don't know how many more minutes we have left, but what to thank each and every one of you. Whether we've interacted regularly, or we made each other laugh even once. I'll be eternally grateful for this time we had together. Be good to each other. #TheLastDriveIn

Things we/I did during the run of #TheLastDriveIn: • Watched some crazy ass movies • Made a ton friends to laugh, sob, and pass out on a couch with (though generally not the same couch) • Started or joined a variety of watch party groups because of it (#LastDriveInAgain, #FFB, #Splatterdays #FullMoonFrights #GangDoesGiallo #MonochromeCreeps, and more than I could list here) • Enjoyed live screenings, Jamborees, and all-night parties at venues that will have likely regretted their decision to host us • Kept each other sane through COVID • Endured two U.S. Presidents • Raised more than $17,000 for The Trevor Project • And raised likely hundreds of thousands of more dollars for a variety of other organizations through the annual auctions • Had the pleasure of John Brennan pulling musical magic from the air, bringing us his own beer at the Memphis Jamboree, and stopping and talking to anyone who ever came up to him. His contributions to the show and the Jamborees are undeniable • Enjoyed Yuki spray painting those "solid silver" bolos, somehow getting stuck in a tree with a satellite dish, and taking a picture with a group of us at the Las Vegas airport despite having no idea who the hell we were and why we were bothering him • We got "Spry as Fuck" and elegantly wasted during Walpurgisnacht, and probably Valentine's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas too. • Refreshed at least three different electronic devices during the original "farewell" marathon in the hopes that the Shudder servers had been momentarily extinguished. And then stayed awake for an entire weekend, much to the chagrin of our families • Discovered the creative and artistic talents of folks like Cody Schibi, "Daddyman," T. Denton, Monster Movie Happy Hour, Drew Lopez, Katie Steinruck, and a billion other amazing people • And, most importantly of all, we had the rare joy of meeting and bonding over the same thing. We experienced a brief moment in time when, despite our geographic locations, upbringings, religious or political beliefs, sexual orientations, or favorite movies, we all came together. Whether it was to laugh, cry, gag, feel inspired, or question our life choices when it comes to movies. And that doesn't happen much in life, so always embrace it when you can I think I can speak for most of us when I say we will be forever grateful to Joe Bob, Darcy, John, Yuki, Austin Jennings, Matt Manjourides, Justin Martell, and I assume Craig Engler for giving us some of the best friends, experiences, and joys I think we'll ever have. Much love and gratitude to each and every one of you, and I'll catch you by the end of the second movie. ALLLLRIGHT ❤️

You guys and gals pulled off what no other group had done. I've heard JB talk about studios reciting the whole "We want to bring MonsterVision back" line, and him internally thinking "Great, at least I get another free lunch out of it." But you actually pulled it off, AND kept it going. Between that and the way you've always interacted with us fans at the Jamborees - You're a legend in my book. Hope only great things come your way in the future.

Wife: "Wow, it really is the last regular episode, huh?" Me: "Yeah, it's surprisingly emotional." Wife: "Do you think you'll cry?" Me: "I think I'll be tough enough to make it through." * Wife leaves room. * Starts crying. #TheLastDriveIn

@janmangalaxy That jacket is more magical than I will ever be. I'm pretty sure it would solve world peace if it went free agent and could flee my closet.

@MrsR3con78 Absolutely. I think it's helped a lot of us make friends and stay sane over the years. It's been messy at times, but I'm grateful for anyone who brought us the show.

Props to them to giving credit to everyone involved in the show and all the Jamborees (Thanks volunteers for all you did!). While the Drive-In Will Never Die, I may have just a little inside. But like they say, don't be sad it's over, be happy it happened...or that you can even remember any of it. #TheLastDriveIn
