Let’s correct your “facts”. She’s Puerto Rican. Where she grew up (Bronx), many Latina use the N word. It bothers some blacks, but it doesn’t bother others. This is moreso because they grew up in the same hoods with us, went to the same schools as us etc. however, outside of their hood/city it came off wrong. But it wasn’t from a malicious place so people with sense moved past it. It was a learning lesson for her and she didn’t repeat it again. She never pretended to use anyone’s voice, she actually gave the women work and for many, per their own words, their first real big check. She gave them exposure. It’s today’s “stan twitter” that thinks it’s an “a ha moment” and want to drill it to the floor. Tommy controlled Mariah to the point that after all her success early in her career, she didn’t even know she was famous (her words). What makes you think JLo “let” him use her? What makes you think she even knew what Mariah was recording? You guys get on Twitter and pretend to know what happens in the industry, and you have no clue. Her boss (Tommy) who had full control of her music career, told her he wanted her to do this song, and she had to do it. She may have liked it as well. But i don’t feel like she knew it was a shot at Mariah, by Mariah’s ex husband. Mariah just had misplaced anger and should’ve seen a therapist for that. If you can’t see the doors she’s opened for Latin artists, then baby that’s simply another example of what you don’t know about the music industry. I hope you’re having the day you deserve.
