@airqkc I'm surprised this article also doesnt list that carbon dioxide can also rapidly accumulate in smaller living spaces, causing headaches and other health symptoms. Seems to be something not talked about.

We spend about 90% of our time indoors. While outdoor air pollution can enter your home & impact indoor air quality, there are also sources of indoor air pollution. These sources can result in your indoor air being worse than your outdoor air. Read more: epa.gov/air-quality/in…

We have flatpak and you can use it if your distro is good. Every major distro supports them. It's a solved problem and people will keep bitching about it because it doesn't work on their shitty void linux setup
Ritesh Oedayrajsingh Varma@rovarma

This is 100% true, but Linux devs were and are in denial about this. There’s a reason the install page for every cross platform app looks like * Download Windows installer * Download OSX package * Click here for Linux install instructions that may or may not work on your distro

@BigJonnyQuest @herrmann1001 How many milliamps of screen time and X app time will you use up to complain about a 5 microamp bit of hardware that also doubles as the same hardware that allows things like tap to pay?

Mind blown 🤯 Some smartphones sold in mainland China (like certain OPPO models) can read MIFARE Classic cards, crack the keys in seconds, store them, and then fully emulate the card directly on the phone. No extra hardware. Just the phone. Access control, transit cards, hotel keys… game over. Huge thanks to Ian for showing me this in person. Really eye-opening how far NFC capabilities have gone in some regions. Who else has seen this in the wild? #NFC #MIFARE #TechSecurity #oppo

@Allspice360 @herrmann1001 I use X more than once Answer my question, how many times have you used the cloning functionality? Maybe you’re some uber hacker cloning keys every day. But you’re not, I bet you’ve never cloned a single key.

@BigJonnyQuest @herrmann1001 If you genuinely feel this way, uninstall the X app. It's using massively more power than the NFC in your phone by tenfold.

@BigJonnyQuest @herrmann1001 Drawing power? Lmfao. In passive poll standby mode it takes damn near nothing. Having your screen on for one second will waste more power then this thing does in an hour.

Steam Controller will apparently cost $99, price mentioned in a review that accidentally went up early. Release/orders may be imminent. "Also at 99 dollars, it's not cheap, but it's only 25 dollars more than a PS5 controller." streamable.com/lj7ut3 reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksA…

@Reed02x @CetusProtocol @arbitrum if institutions are hoping to use blockchains with the expectation that the chains will shut down to secure their assets in case of any hack, then it just doesn’t serve the purpose of using a decentralized ledger at all.

last year after the $223m @CetusProtocol hack, Sui did something very similar to @arbitrum validators coordinated & chose not to listen transactions from the hacker’s wallet. (yeah. kinda how your ex ghosted you 💀) funds got frozen & later, after governance vote, returned the money to Cetus Protocol decentralisation sounds cool in theory but when retail money is involved, should chains should not sit & watch. they must step in, freeze, rollback, do whatever it takes i’m seeing a lot of praise for @Arbitrum today but @SuiNetwork got way less love back then lol.

Arbitrum@arbitrum

The Arbitrum Security Council has taken emergency action to freeze the 30,766 ETH being held in the address on Arbitrum One that is connected to the KelpDAO exploit. The Security Council acted with input from law enforcement as to the exploiter’s identity, and, at all times, weighed its commitment to the security and integrity of the Arbitrum community without impacting any Arbitrum users or applications. After significant technical diligence and deliberation, the Security Council identified and executed a technical approach to move funds to safety without affecting any other chain state or Arbitrum users. As of April 20 11:26pm ET the funds have been successfully transferred to an intermediary frozen wallet. They are no longer accessible to the address that originally held the funds, and can only be moved by further action by Arbitrum governance, which will be coordinated with relevant parties.

@Seferyn I'd also like to remind you that a certain "current" administration has done a number on NWS by letting a lot of people go and fucking up funding. The models your local news operates with are gotten from them. If you want better weather models, we gotta pick better govt.

Have you guys ever considered qualifying your risk factors a bit? You guys put a big circle out, like everybody in that circle is going to die. When you know, historically, a tornado almost never lands in a metro area. Even in Tornado Alley; it's always on the outskirts. I'm not sure why it is, but it probably has something to do with big buildings, concrete, and asphalt affecting hot and cold convection currents or something. I don’t think it is helpful to tell 2.2 million people they should be ready to get in their basement when it’s really only about 150,000 of those people. I don’t know if you guys are believers in the Covid era “scare them into compliance” methodology but that’s what it looks like.

POTATO HAIL EXPLAINED (PLUS FULL FRIDAY AM SEVERE RISK UPDATE 1/4) - Today’s atmosphere is capable of producing 4” hail in narrow swaths in strongest cells - The descriptor for this is usually “softball” - Softballs are uniform in size/shape. Hail is not. Potatoes are not. - Potatoes are smaller than softballs, so it’s less hype-y - It gets the people talking. Awareness: raised ✅ - Potatoes are a superior descriptor - Get on the ice potato bandwagon

@willmcgugan It is currently worse, because we now have a tool that can release a firehose of slop as well as many gullible humans that cannot verify information on a day to day basis. This is a net negative for humanity overall as we have no protection against it.

I've been whinging a lot about AI lately. But believe it or not, I am bullish about AI. That said, can anyone--hand on their heart--say that AI has made the world better *today*? Even if you think there is a glorious future ahead of us. At the present time, is the world better or worse off with AI?

@ValiantValorie this is why if you do TKL, you get a QMK keyboard and allow the alt function of the block of keys with del, ins, end to become a virtual numpad.

There's LITTERALLY 0 benefit to no numpad!! You need that space between right and left hand anyway for ergonomics. "its more lightweight"? Keyboards don't move??? "I don't use numpad" its BETTER and you can bind macros/hotkeys/externals SO START YOU MORON "looks nicer" WRONG
