Stumbled across this rather wonderful baby tawny owl this week. Sat in the corner of a field not a care in the world!

A rare ‘twitch’ saw me wishing the Earlswood Lakes spotted sandpiper was a bit closer. A sanderling was more confiding.

Dropped by Salisbury Plain to look for bustards and was delighted by so many corn buntings and grey partridge. What a great job @bustardgroup and @DefenceHQ are doing.

I went looking for cattle egret on the Somerset levels, couldn’t find any then stumbled across 150! Amazing!

A leggy white bird weekend last week at the Somerset levels. The great white egrets had the most amazing leg and face colour as they prepare for breeding.

Had some great sightings in the Forest of Dean over the weekend. I spent most of it looking for Boar. This is probably one of the weekend’s highlights. Fallow buck and a wild boar.

Sign of things to come? This was one of a pair of Alexandrine parakeets at Elmdon park in Solihull recently.
