Speakers note that roughly 32 people died in ICE detention last year. 13 died so far this year, including two at Miami Correctional.

The other is from the country of Georgia. Another speaker, a formerly detained, says roughly 600 people are currently being held at Miami which has the capacity for 1,000 detention beds.

Carson toured the facility this morning. He says he spoke to American inmates and two ICE detainees who contradict the narratives put forth by the Trump administration and DHS officials. Carson said one man is from Haiti and was living in Ft Wayne.
