@phlegmme Always kinda astonishing when a Oneohtrix Point Never song gets a cover and kinda reveals it was a solid gold “normal style” song buried by weirdness.

Experimental musicians should also make a control group version of every song to check whether it would sound better normal style

@ryleywalker @ian__grant lol, kinda love that take. Always love the vibe and guitar tone of that album. Kinda falls apart when I pay too much attention to the lyrics. Best for its dreamlike quality

@thamosdeaf Rewatched this recently and was kinda stunned by how strange it was. Still have so much fondness but without my nostalgia it feels like a movie that barely works? Strange references (extended Laverne and Shirley segment), unclear jokes (“fished in!” ending??). Kinda baffling film

A little surprised we’ve never seen serious headway on a nostalgia revival for Wayne’s World. Insanely workable idea in the streaming era.

@geoffwilt Dream River may not be his best but it’s become my favorite of his. So easy to put on. His lost consistent album in terms of the vibe staying so pleasantly unmoored and dreamy. Keep feeling baffled seeing it show up low on folks’ BC rankings.
