@SAO73725861 @rinsass and be like "look, i love this so much i decorate my room with it!"
English

@SAO73725861 @rinsass I wouldn't mind that either, but I'd definitely recommend they pay for it. while pirating something like that gives the same experience, there's an odd sense of fulfilment from experiencing it again legally. Plus, it's something you can have in your room to show off
English

@SAO73725861 @rinsass As an anarchist, most of my opinions on laws are pretty extreme, but even a lot of more moderate people in the west see crime as less of an issue than whether any harm is being done, but there seems to be a psychological link between laws and morals in some eastern countries.
English

@SAO73725861 @rinsass Having been reading a lot the opinions of a Japanese people on this topic, there's a possibility they would, but a of them seem to have a strange kind of disgusted response to any piracy at all, which is very odd to westerners, who don't believe the law matters as much.
English

@SAO73725861 @rinsass I don't mind it. Overall, there are a lot of people who do the same, and the free availability of piracy actually makes creators more money than if there was none. piracy is only bad if it makes it difficult to make money, it's not inherently bad. So the good outweighs the bad
English

@SAO73725861 @rinsass Piracy is best treated like demo discs for video games, or free samples of food, in my opinion, and that's how most piracy works in the west as well. a lot of heavily pirated works actually make more money because people pirating it end up buying it.
English

@SAO73725861 @rinsass The same as what i said in my reply to my tweet also applies to the manga websites; if i enjoy the manga enough, i will pay money for it, but without those websites there are a lot of manga i would spend money on that i would never know about.
English

@SAO73725861 @rinsass And personally, I'll go and actually buy the game if I enjoy it enough while playing it, which is most games I play. But there's no need for me to do so. These Japanese people say I'm not "entitled" to a company's product, but id say those companies aren't entitled to my money.
English

@SAO73725861 @rinsass It's not like I'll go online and pirate everything i can just because it's free, that would be a waste of time. If i pirate something it's because I wanted it in the first place; the mindset that people pirate because they don't like something enough to pay for it isn't accurate.
English

@SAO73725861 @rinsass Why is that bad, if enough people still buy it that the developers get enough money to make a profit? I don't understand why pirating something just because you want to is wrong, and nobody has explained it in a way that makes sense.
English

@HeyItsVadim @TheLibProj @CinemarxismBret No lol, lib shit is knowing there are concentration camps and thinking that doing dances and three-legged races outside of them is a good use of your time. There's no argument to be had or public favour worth worrying about when people are being raped and killed.
English

@Almost_April @TheLibProj @CinemarxismBret Actually, lib shit is thinking that there's no place for humor in politics and protest.
English

Can someone explain this tactic to me? How does spending hundreds of dollars on dildos protect undocumented families? Is it supposed to be humiliating for someone? I am actually so lost.
Jessica Palmadessa@JessPalmadessa
Protesters in los angeles covered the detention center in dildos this afternoon. Interesting protesting method.
English

@HeyItsVadim @TheLibProj @CinemarxismBret fascists don't care what they look like to people they want dead. This is some of the libbiest bullshit I've seen today.
English

Again, I am not defending this dildo thing as some amazing form of protest, lol. But humor is often the BEST form of protest, it's something that makes people want to join in & makes fascists look like moronic dorks.
Here's the Gay Men's Choir serenading homophobes with love songs. If you can't see how awesome this is then GTFO of our movement now. lol. 😆

@thereisnobeth @kihelpata The idea behind that is that lesbians love women, therefore at least some would love a woman's genitalia regardless of what those genitals actually are physically, because being attached to a woman makes those genitals womanly, no?
English

@Almost_April @kihelpata ok but the post that prompted all this was "lesbians love dick when it's attached to a woman".
English

phallocentrism is when you want people to stop being weird about your XXL clit
thereisnobeth@thereisnobeth
@mtthoneybee free my people from phallocentricism
English

@Almost_April @kihelpata the relevance is that when we accept "do lesbians like dick" as an important form of debate we implicitly endorse the idea that the most important part of loving a trans woman is just "do you think her genitals are hot"
English

@thereisnobeth @kihelpata the line isnt "lesbians love dick" though, it's "lesbians *can* love *girl*dick". And that's *opposing* that idea, by saying that us being women changes how our anatomy should be viewed. It's also only as phallocentric as people with genital preferences are, lol
English

@Almost_April @kihelpata when we fight for trans acceptance with lines like "lesbains love dick" we're accepting the underlying premise that our genitals define us and that the most important part of trans acceptance is around our genitals
English

@thereisnobeth @kihelpata Not sure what the relevance of phallocentrism is to the og tweet if you're not saying that's a performance of it, but imo phallocentrism is less about penis in general and more about the penis as a symbol representative of strength and masculinity; girldick doesn't fit that.
English

@Almost_April @kihelpata i did not say we were performing phallocentrism so much as saying we've often internalised it
English

@thereisnobeth @kihelpata In a subversive way, sure, but saying a trans woman is *performing* phallocentrism is a pretty terfy talking point. Besides, the popular image of "girldick" is completely divorced from the typical patriarchal conception of phallocentrism, lol.
English

@Almost_April @kihelpata im not saying we do! phallocentrism is one of the factors that intersects to create transmisogyny. it's a factor of our oppression
