@KernCMC @Mathgarden I always saw Math relating to a puzzle! It can frustrating and infuriating for some, especially when you're stuck, but it can be exciting and thrilling, finding the right piece of the puzzle or working so hard to get it done! #EDEL5200

Q2: Many people would argue that mathematics is the most objective learning endeavor! Yet, at the same time, mathematics is full of emotions! What are some of the emotions that people experience when learning mathematics? #kerncmc #KernMathRecess #EDEL5200 #MathRecess @Mathgarden

@KernCMC @Mathgarden Some of emotions related to math in the classroom would be frustration, embarrassement, disappoinment, and confusion. Embarrassment and disappointment can be seen together when a student did get the answer right. But this is were we as teacher have to movivate and encourage them.

@KernCMC @Mathgarden The main thing I take away from Finland is that students are the priority and their knowledge is gain through exploration. Leaving standardize test out of the picture.

@KernCMC @Mathgarden Some math games that could be used are dominoes or dice. Some games that can be played for math could be uno, guess my number, four in a row and even a math bingo. These games make it fun for the students to grow their brain while doing math and make them want to play more

@MrSmithBCSD @KernCMC Yes, I agree that we need to teach students to understand the struggle because struggle is what makes students not like math in the first place. Teach there will be struggle but they will be a fun a way to solve at the end.

@KernCMC Teach students to understand that struggle is a positive part of the process and engage in collaborative conversations that expose students to different mindsets regarding math problems. The four P's allow for the different methods of exploring and engaging in math problems.

@KernCMC A1: #MathRecess I believe math should be fun and engaging to students. Just how Resnick imagines with projects, peers, passion, and play. If you see these in a math lesson students will be fully involved and engaged which means they are learning the lesson. I
