Daddy D.O🇳🇬@DOlusegun

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has met with global investors in Paris, France, emphasising transparency and fiscal discipline, and explaining the rationale for the swift implementation of bold reforms.   At the meeting, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, highlighted Nigeria's strong GDP growth in dollar terms in 2025.   He said Nigeria recorded 11.2% GDP growth in dollar terms last year, a record that reinforced the country's ambition to achieve a $1 trillion economy in 2030.   Oyedele emphasised the government's near-term priorities of translating reforms into results for the Nigerian people. He also pledged to publish quarterly financial data.   The Director General of the Debt Management Office, Mrs Patience Oniha, assured investors of the government’s responsible approach to debt financing and its focus on sustainable debt management.   The investors were from Citibank and France's Amundi, led by Valerie Baudson. There were also BlueCrest, the Britain- and South Africa-based Ninety One, Kirkoswald Capital, Principal Finisterre, US groups Prudential Global Investment Management (PGIM) and Mesarete Capital.   President Tinubu, who left Nigeria on Sunday for a three-nation trip, said the economic reform program of his administration includes measures to remove economic distortions and stabilise macroeconomic indicators, laying the foundation for sustained inclusive growth.   He said his government is committed to deepening reforms, enhancing transparency across the oil value chain, and implementing a multi-pronged security strategy, including police decentralisation and disrupting terrorist financing.   "The focus remains on policy stability and diligent execution to ensure these strategic shifts translate into concrete benefits for all Nigerians", President Tinubu said.   Some of the investors who spoke at the meeting commended the government's transformative reforms and expressed optimism about the Nigerian economy.   One of the investors asked President Tinubu about his post-2027 agenda. He promised to strengthen fiscal discipline and transparency, and to deliver policy consistency. Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President, (Information & Strategy)

This is the quality that makes Peter Obi the best man for the job of President in Nigeria. Recently, I have been hearing some Nigerians say: “Peter Obi is too soft or too weak, Nigeria needs a strong man. He is too kind. He will not be president because he is not ruthless. Anytime I hear that, I just feel like giving them a hug and saying, I understand with you. I understand because many of us have been oppressed, harassed, and insulted our whole lives, by parents, teachers, banks, police, army, politicians, LASTMA, agberos, conductors, lecturers, even class reps. We got so used to being neglected and oppressed that we now see empathy and love as weakness. As if we do not deserve kindness. We do not even hug our own family members or say “I love you” we call it a sign of weakness. But it is actually strength, unity, and love. It is our only hope as a nation. Stay with me. We have been conditioned to admire “strong men” who insult and treat us like slaves. Some of us are now addicted to that kind of dysfunctional leadership. But let me tell you the truth, Empathy is one of the most important qualities a leader can have, especially with the massive power that comes with the office of President. Peter Obi is the clear representation of empathy and emotional intelligence. Even his critics admit it. A man with real empathy will not wake up on his first day in office and announce “subsidy is gone,” turning millions of lives upside down overnight. He would implement it better, with a human face. Today we can’t afford eggs, milk, or fish, all because we voted for “strong men” with zero empathy, who don’t care whether ordinary people live or perish. Today we have strong men who only care about fake statistics. As long as their Sycophants are lying to them, the common Nigerians can die of hunger and insecurity. They will just respond with Rice and coastal road. If you say you don’t want Peter Obi because he is “too nice,” let me ask you honestly: Would you rather have leaders like the minister who boasts about seizing people’s land? Or the one who owes someone and then uses police to oppress them? Or the kind that insults your parents and destabilizes a whole state for selfish reasons? Or the senator who says “If you like, go and protest, we will be eating”? Are those the “strong men” we truly want? The strong men you admire were busy attending weddings and festivals while over 100 people were killed and many more kidnapped in Woro, Kwara State in February. The so called "Strong Men" blocked Peter Obi from visiting Benue to comfort suffering people after failing to protect them. A heartless leader can sleep peacefully in Abuja while 200 Nigerians are slaughtered in Benue. How would you feel if it was your own family in those IDP camps or in Woro? Would you still pray for a “strong man” or a leader with empathy who will not rest until every terrorist and kidnapper is dealt with and every part of Nigeria is safe? Think about it deeply. When you are done, drop every excuse. Go and register with INEC. Vote for the kind of leadership Nigeria truly deserves in 2027. Which kind of leader do you really want, the one with empathy and understanding, or one who travels to France while children and women are held captive by terrorists in his country. Be honest.
