Nigeria🇳🇬 has significantly reduced its dependence on oil, with oil revenue dropping from about 75% to 25% of government income in the last decade.
Tax revenue, especially from non-oil sources, now constitutes nearly 87% of total federation revenue.
Non-oil taxes account for over 70% of tax collections, rising from 25% in 2010 to about 75.9% in 2024/2025.
Between 2022 and 2025, Nigeria’s annual tax revenue nearly tripled, driven primarily by growth in non-oil tax collections.

@Three_Leg_Bird @CustomsNG It means the diversification of government revenue is real now, revenue of govt is being generated mainly from oil alone now but other sectors of the economy.

Diversification is no longer a plan; it's our reality.

@aonanuga1956 So you expect people to believe this? If really they resigned&the President accepted their resignation, why was it hard to state the true picture yesterday? Even Dangiwa didn't say he resigned in his own release yesterday. People are not fools, they were relieved of their jobs.

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE
Wale Edun, former Finance Minister, and Musa Dangiwa, Housing Minister, resigned; they were not sacked
Former Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, duly tendered his resignation from office, citing health reasons, before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced his replacement on Tuesday.
Also, the former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, similarly resigned and thanked the President for the opportunity given him to serve in the Federal Executive Council.
Edun, who clocked 70 on Monday and has battled recent ill health, fittingly submitted his resignation letter on his birthday, thanking the President for the opportunity to serve Nigeria.
“It has been a pleasure and privilege to serve your administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda”, his letter read.
“Under your leadership, Nigeria has emerged stronger, more resilient and more internationally respected.
“I wish you and the administration every success in the future”, he wrote.
On Tuesday, before the Office of the Secretary of the Government of the Federation announced his departure from the Cabinet, Edun paid a valedictory visit to the President at the Villa. He held an hour-long discussion with the president and then left to focus on his private businesses.
Dangiwa, an architect, previously served as the managing director of the Federal Mortgage Bank between 2015 and 2022, as well as Secretary to the Katsina State Government, before President Tinubu appointed him as housing minister in August 2023.
Edun, an economist and investment banker, served as Lagos State commissioner for finance between 1999 and 2004, during the tenure of then Governor Bola Tinubu.
Before then, he worked from 1980 to 1986 at Chase Merchant Bank (later Continental) in Lagos. He joined the World Bank in September 1986 through the elite Young Professionals program, where he worked on economic and financial packages for several countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In 1989, he co-founded Investment Banking & Trust Company Limited (now Stanbic IBTC) and served as executive director. In 1994, he founded Denham Management Limited, which has since become the Chapelhill Denham Group. He served as chairman from 2008 to 2021.
President Tinubu has expressed deep appreciation to Edun and Dangiwa for their dedicated service and significant contributions to the administration’s economic reform programme and wished them continued success in their future endeavours.
In the same vein, the President has urged the new Minister of Finance, Taiwo Oyedele, to consolidate ongoing reforms and advance the administration’s fiscal and economic objectives with renewed focus, discipline, and innovation.
President Tinubu will shortly send the ministerial nominee for housing, Muttaqha Rabe Darma, also from Katsina, like Dangiwa, to the Senate for confirmation.

@govdouyediri The Governor's handle should be able to display the projects commissioned, less of the invited guests.

Today, I had the pleasure of receiving our dear immediate past Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, in Yenagoa to inaugurate two of our completed projects: the Agbura-Ox-Bow Lake road and the Oporoma Referral Hospital.
This visit, only a few days after Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, inaugurated the historic 630-metre Angiama-Oporoma bridge across the River Nun, is very exciting to Prof. Osinbajo, who, four years ago on February 19th, 2022, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the bridge.
Today, as we drove to Oporoma to inaugurate the Referral Hospital, Prof. Osinbajo asked that we stop the convoy so he could physically feel the Angiama-Oporoma bridge. What a nostalgic feeling for him, seeing such a landmark project in a hitherto forested site!
At Oporoma town, where the people of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area gathered to host Prof. Osinbajo and me for our commitment to deliver the bridge that has been on the cards for over 60 years, I appreciated the former Vice President for being a great friend of Bayelsa State.
Interestingly, today, I was told that the construction of the Oporoma Referral Hospital started as far back as 1973. Truly, this is yet another historic project to boost healthcare in the area.
Our Government of Assured Prosperity is redefining governance and we are taming the hitherto “difficult” terrain to deliver legacy projects for our people. Once again, thank you Professor Yemi Osinbajo, for identifying with us. Nua! Mbana sir!

Please permit me to preach to you for a minute using brother @temiokomi as a reference point.
Temisan was such a giver.
In the Bible, the parables of Jesus often associated giving with access to Heaven. The parables are unambiguous on this. Giving is not incidental to Kingdom access, it is structural.
The Rich Young Ruler (Matthew 19:21)
Jesus tells a man who has kept every commandment: “Go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.”
The Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19–31)
A wealthy man feasts daily. A beggar named Lazarus starves at his gate. Both die. Lazarus goes to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man goes to torment. No dramatic sin is named. The indictment is the gate he ignored.
The Sheep and the Goats (Matthew 25:31–46)
The most explicit text on this subject. The righteous inherit the Kingdom because they fed the hungry, clothed the naked, welcomed the stranger, visited the sick and imprisoned. The condemned are turned away for the same reasons, inverted. The verdict in both cases: “Inasmuch as you did it, or did not do it, to one of the least of these.”
Brethren, if we go by these texts, giving is a requisite visa to access Heaven. Temisan was an embodiment of this ideal. He lived it. He was it. He gave and gave and just gave. He always found a reason to.
Let us pray: May brother Temisan inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. May his family thrive here despite his absence, because he will always be here, somehow. And may the rest of us learn to give, of ourselves and our resources. And may God’s blessings continue to abound for you as you channel them to the world.
If you are led to bless the preacher, please send it to this account Veronica Okomi

Keystone Bank. That’s Temisan’s widow, everyone may hurt, she will hurt the most. Amidst that, she will now bear the burdens he left behind.
When people die, some go out of their way to make things inconvenient for their families. We must be the ones who help to ease their pains. We are God’s vessels for intervening on Earth. God bless and be with you. Amen.
Glory to God.

@DaddyWithDSteez @fkeyamo @BashirAhmaad @officialABAT So he cheated his way to work with Mobil, to be a Senator, Governor, President? There are things you can't take away from him, he is one of the best opposition leader Nigeria has ever had. He provided possible solutions/alternatives while in opposition &people voted for him.
English

@fkeyamo @BashirAhmaad @officialABAT Tinubu is not a master strategist, he has no play book, he is not a genius, nothing linked to him is authentic. He has always cheated his way to wherever he is, and no matter how hard he tries to wash his image he will forever be a looser who took victories in life he never won.
English

The very unique thing about President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT is that he fought from the deep end of opposition to become President of Nigeria and today, he has totally flipped the script on the PDP which could not outfox him as the only surviving opposition Governor in the South-West in 2007.
Therefore, every step the opposition takes today and every strategy they adopt is from the playbook of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He knows and understands every single step against him before they even conceive it.
You cannot beat the master at his own game; you cannot outfox the man who taught almost all of us how to play opposition politics; he is 100 steps ahead of all of them.

@Galafi_Hamman @abbahmohd Does an acknowledgement of a letter to an organization now mean the receiver must comply or agree with the content of the letter? It is a standard procedure, nothing special.
