It is not simply because of their popularity or buzz surrounding them that QWER is evaluated as an "irreplaceable band." QWER is a band accompanied by a unique growth narrative that cannot be found in any other band.
As is widely known, some members of QWER have backgrounds as internet broadcasters and TikTokers. In particular, bassist Magenta and guitarist Hina were beginners who had no professional experience playing their respective instruments before their debut.
Because of this, they had to fight against significant prejudice from the moment they debuted. When they were first scheduled to appear at the 'Pentaport Rock Festival,' an untimely controversy over their "qualifications" even broke out.
The weapon QWER drew to face these prejudices and controversies was "skill." By performing successfully at Pentaport as well as various other festivals, QWER succeeded in erasing the suspicious glances directed at them.
Furthermore, it is not difficult to imagine how much effort QWER poured in to make this "skill" their own.
This growth narrative played a major role in helping QWER gain favor and popularity with a wider audience. In fact, there have been several instances before and after QWER where popular internet personalities knocked on the door of the music industry. However, to this day, QWER remains the only case to achieve mainstream success.
Mr. A, the CEO of an entertainment marketing firm, explained: "QWER is a case where the formation, planning, marketing, directing, and narrative all aligned perfectly from the start. On top of that, working with professional producers helped create a concept and musicality that fit them perfectly." He added, "Regardless of their popularity during their days as internet broadcasters, a meticulous strategy and clever planning/marketing accompanied them to create 'Band QWER's' unique growth narrative, which resonated with the public. It is an incredibly unique and impressive success story."
