Responses to this are funny. Enemies should never become complete steamrolls for the player regardless of their input. Since Mother 2 was used as an example, I should mention that Mother 1 is better for this reason.

@jetjaguar2236 Level scaling is one of the most hated mechanics for RPGs and is difficult to get right
In many cases it renders fighting enemies pointless, as your dont gain any value from them, turning a major part of the game from fun to a chore.
What it sounds like you want is a puzzle game

@AlphaShroom Well, even in RPGs with level scaling and the like, you still get stronger int he end. But that comes in the form of things like skills etc depending on the game.
Also don't forget that your game knowledge still increases, even if your levels don't.

More RPGs need to add the feature that lets you automatically defeat enemies if you are much higher level than them. It makes exploring so much more fun.

@Gumby_keto I do it sometimes, to make sure I've heard the full voice line before continuing.
Although, alot of games don't have different settings for a voiced line and unvoiced ones, so sometimes an unvoiced narration line comes up and is gone in a 1/10 of a second before i can read it
