@MKEBucks91 @JWe9378 @leoko8585 I agree with that. I think waiting tables is great money for energetic, motived, and talented individuals who want to put in a lot of effort and take market risks. Its not a guarantee. Restaurants should pay wages the same as everyone else.

@AlphaVMan @JWe9378 @leoko8585 Its not my job to put food on their table when the restaurant is marking up costs 150% We need to standardize waitress/waiter pay to hourly and let tips be a choice based on good service

The pay is not guaranteed. I know many servers who made great money take lesser paying jobs because they wanted a steady check. Tips are not guaranteed, hours are not guaranteed, business is not guaranteed. Every night you have to earn it, unless you think you are entitled to big tips........ and that is the big problem here.

@JWe9378 @leoko8585 Its not our job to pay others, its our choice to offer gratuity. A $9 tip for a waitress making 2.13 and serving 4 tables would be around 38.50 an hour. If thats not good enough go find a better paying job.

@JWe9378 That's not the way restaurants operate, nor is it consistent with restaurant culture. I think a better option for this person is to show their disagreement with tip culture by not eating in restaurants which charge these prices for their food.

@CrazyVibes_1 I remember reading that there were big problems off camera with Winkler wanting the show to revolve around his character, the Fonz.

One afternoon in 1975, during a lunch break on the Paramount lot, Ron Howard found Henry Winkler standing alone, silently rehearsing a scene. Henry looked unusually tense that day. Ron walked over casually, watched him for a moment, then said, “You know, Richie looks up to Fonzie, but I look up to you too.” For a second, Henry just stared at him. Then he laughed. The tension disappeared almost instantly, and neither of them realized it at the time, but that small conversation would become the beginning of a friendship that lasted far beyond “Happy Days.” From the start, the chemistry between Richie Cunningham and Fonzie never felt forced. What audiences saw onscreen worked because the connection behind the cameras was already real. Ron Howard came into the show with years of experience from “The Andy Griffith Show.” He was thoughtful, observant, and always focused on details. Henry Winkler arrived from the theater world carrying a completely different energy — emotional, spontaneous, and deeply instinctive as an actor. They balanced each other naturally. Behind the scenes, Henry was known for joking around between takes and helping younger cast members feel comfortable. Ron was quieter, often sitting with writers discussing Richie’s motivations or asking questions about story arcs and emotional beats. Eventually, those conversations moved beyond the set. They started walking through studio backlots together after filming, talking about Shakespeare, acting, fame, and the strange pressure that came with suddenly becoming recognizable everywhere. One moment especially stayed with both of them. During a scene where Richie had to defend Fonzie from bullies, Ron kept missing a line. The crew reset several times, and frustration slowly started building across the set. Henry finally stepped closer and quietly said, “Forget the script. Just tell me what you’d say if someone really hurt me.” Something shifted immediately. Ron stopped acting and simply responded honestly in character. The exchange felt so genuine that the producers kept much of it in the final episode, and it later became one of the most emotional scenes in the series. Their friendship only deepened after Ron left “Happy Days” to focus on directing. In 1982, while trying to prove himself behind the camera, Howard cast Winkler in “Night Shift.” For Henry, it was also a chance to break away from Fonzie’s shadow and show audiences something different. They trusted each other completely by then. Even during the mid-1980s, when Ron Howard’s directing career exploded with films like “Cocoon” and “Parenthood” while Winkler struggled professionally, the friendship never faded. Henry later admitted those years were emotionally difficult. But Ron kept checking on him quietly. At one point, he even mailed Henry a completely blank script titled “You’ll Get Your Fire Back.” It was his way of saying, keep going. Years later, both still spoke about each other with genuine affection. Howard once called Henry the person who taught him film sets could feel safe and supportive instead of competitive. Henry described Ron differently. “The moral compass,” he once said. “Whenever I’m confused, I ask what Ron would do.” When Winkler finally won his first Emmy in 2018 for “Barry,” Ron immediately texted him with excited messages and an old photo of them together from the 1970s. Henry replied simply: “We share a history, and that’s thicker than water.” In Hollywood, friendships often disappear when the cameras stop rolling. Theirs never did.

In 1995, 15-year-old Nicole van den Hurk was raped & murdered on her way to school in the Netherlands. The case went cold for 16 years. Then, suddenly, her stepbrother Andy confessed on Facebook: “I killed my little sister” Police arrested him… but all was not as it seemed. It was, in fact, a deliberate false confession. Andy’s plan? Force them to exhume Nicole’s body for modern DNA testing. The insane gamble worked. In 2014, the real killer, a man with prior rape convictions, was caught & sentenced to 12 years.

Woman subverts enemy lines posing as relief worker, then passes out contaminated food rations to hungry soldiers, only to get caught days later, but not before infecting 57% of the south wall soldiers troops with violent dysentery right before it is attacked by allied forces. Same spirit imo.
