Harsh toward everyone—including themselves. But mercy keeps a soul from becoming consumed by bitterness. That does not mean ignoring evil. It does not mean removing accountability. And it certainly does not mean allowing abuse to continue unchecked. Mercy and justice are not enemies. True mercy sees clearly: It recognizes wrongdoing honestly It understands consequences matter Yet it refuses to abandon compassion entirely The merciful understand their own imperfections—and because of that, they do not rush to destroy others for theirs.
