@CruxStellarum @memeticsisyphus He obviously meant that Genghis Khan wouldnt care for Jesus' teachings and would, when it comes to brute strenght, vanquish him. Not good phrazing sure, but its not like Yahu is hating on Jesus here, lets be fair.

“War is bad” Ok I’m with you “This war primarily benefits another country at great expense to national treasury and is a danger in spinning out of control.” Yeah I can see that. “And that other country killed Charlie Kirk.” What… “And his wife trafficked children for Epstein.” Huh? “And Epstein worked for that country to black mail every world leader into doing its bidding using baby rape” Ok you’re all retarded. “You’re Jewish”

@Tweetophon @TheCinesthetic Menelaus, Ajax and Agamemnon being killed and Paris surviving are also not great. Plus they butcher Helens character, the iliadic Helen was not weepy when Menelaus vanquished Paris, she was weepy when Aphrodite saved him and forced her to go to him lmao

@TheCinesthetic If you didn't read the epic and surrounding texts and general mythology, it was probably a lot easier to enjoy. It's rather jarring/offensive when they remove people like Protesilaus and instead depict Achilles as being the first ashore, etc.

@UpdatingOnRome The fleet Sulla returned with from Asia Minor after he defeated the pontics had more ships than the fleet that sailed for Helen btw. The roman navy is underrated

@UserX436700 @HomerPavlos They were obviously not written by eyewitnesses. Dyctis' was published in the fourth century AD, Dares' around the same time. I think you're trolling cause theres no way you believe this

@AlpineLingual @HomerPavlos Homer's story is not the original story, it is a fantasy tale. The two works I mentioned were written by eyewitnesses, a Greek soldier and a Trojan priest who lived the story. I don't know why you say they were written much later, maybe you're confused by the translation dates.

The Iliad begins with the sentence “Sing, goddess, the anger of Peleus’ son Achilles.” If you pay more attention to who is better, Hector or Achilles, than to understanding what Homer wants to teach you, then you have failed. Read it again carefully.

@UserX436700 @HomerPavlos Those sources are much later and explicitly told in a way to demythologize the original story. Sorry, but the homeric poems and the other stories of the epic cycle are the foundation.

@HomerPavlos Who wants to know the true story of the fall of Troy without Homer's bias should read: Ephemeris Belli Troiani by Dictis Cretense. The story told by a Greek soldier. De Excidio Troiae Historia by Dares Frigio. The story told by a Trojan priest. Homer is not history.

I liked how in the beginning of antiquity we still saw “horns” and “wings” on helmets. The Bronze Age warriors were legends out of the stone age wearing “bone” helmets (and I’ll guess some armor too) and the people of early antiquity were probably still attracted to that style.

Paris isnt even the prettiest warrior at Troy, Achilles and Nireus of Syme probably outshine him in that department. Menelaus too is described as a handsome man for example, Aphrodite simply favours Paris because he awarded her the golden apple. Had he given it to Hera she'd hate his guts.

@UbermenschMind Also note that while Paris is constantly derided as a coward, even by Hector, he is whisked away by Aphrodite when Menelaus is about to kill him. Aphrodite then forces Helen to go have sex Paris, which she ends up doing. Greeks knew about the power of Looksmaxxing.

Alexander 𖤓 Nietzschean Vitalist
Hector embodies the chivalric values of a knight, sworn to protect his land and people. Achilles, by contrast, is the embodiment of the full pagan force of life, a true vitalist chasing glory and immortality. Both and neither is the only true answer, and exactly the point Homer wanted to make. The Greeks held each as a hero worthy of worship, both expressing a different vision of manly virtue. It is yet another reflection of the duality of man. In considering whom our civilization ought to idolize today, the choice becomes much clearer: from where we stand, we can no longer return to Hector. A thousand years of barbarism would have to pass before that were possible. The young men of the west must therefore idolize Achilles, as Alexander once did!

Who is the real hero of the Iliad? Achilles son of Peleus or Prince Hector of Troy?

Was Hector honorable when he tried to desecrate Patroclos' lifeless corpse to deny him passage to the underworld? Was Hector honorable when he berated Paris for his cowardice and then himself fled from Achilles until Athena convinced him to fight? Was Hector honorable when he fought for his brothers cause, a cause so wrong the achaeans thought to end the war before it began with diplomacy because surely no one would defend a pair of thieving adulterers?

@SullyGiorgio @IMPERATORAUS Paris gets shot in the dick with a poisoned arrow by Philoctetes and dies choking in the epic cycle. Also said most beautiful woman routinely tells him how much she despises him in the iliad.

Lol, Paris tries to avoid fighting as much as he can in the iliad until Hector forces him to man up. The mythological Paris is even bigger scum, he's a serial oathbreaker, backstabber, host-betrayer, boasts as if he were Achilles himself while he rarely achieves much on the battlefield...

The Paris of mythology was not as he is portrayed in the movie. As a shepherd, he defeats his brothers and the strongest Trojans at the funeral games held in honour of the lost prince. During the war, Hector praises him for being brave and a capable warrior, even though he is defeated in his duel with Menelaus (nevertheless, he faces him). He also has his own aristeia.

@Stalwart_AU @imjoshinyou @IMPERATORAUS He wasnt, Hector tries to desecrate Patroclos' corpse, a fate he himself begs Achilles to spare him. Had Menelaus not protected the corpse the trojans would've made Patroclos' afterlife a torment

@AlpineLingual @imjoshinyou @IMPERATORAUS My understanding and impression is that that portion is intended to speak more to Achilles' superhuman terribleness than Hector's supposed cowardice. The latter was consistently virtuous throughout, until stepping forward to duel with an infuriated demigod. I could be wrong.

@VJMPub @EnglishCovenant @Tom_Rowsell @RupertLowe10 Christianity is better positioned for the english because it has been Englands primary faith for over 1400 years. As for the "jewishness" it was catholic England that expelled them, if you think that some weird jewish cabal aims to controll Albion or whatever.

@VJMPub @EnglishCovenant @Tom_Rowsell @RupertLowe10 The english have been christian far longer than they have been pagan. England was formed when all the anglish and saxon kingdoms have already long since been christianized. I dont hate pagans/neopagans, truly, but stop acting more important than you actually are.
