Modern cards of retired HOF'ers going for more than their original rookie cards is super telling about the state of the modern collector.

Too many bettors act like if you look at the right stats, or metrics, or watch enough game tape, you can figure out the result of any given event. As if there's a predetermined outcome. Sports betting is a test, and the right answer is there if you look hard enough. In reality, there is an extremely high amount of variance, randomness, and luck in sports. Edges in the probability of outcomes can be found, but it's actually much more about looking at the market than it is "studying" a matchup. The common narrative of "I'm grinding", or, "I'm back in the lab" or "I'm collabing on this bet with ShittyBets836479" is all nonsense. At the end of the day, price is the only thing that matters.
