@Altosopp I’d have assumed that the artists I referenced in the prompts are already out of copyright. Perhaps the models are too constrained. I also suspect that the newer models are tuned for producing realistic images which has gotten rid of the certain madness needed for good art.

I was thinking earlier this week about how the current image generation models don’t seem to have the aesthetics of the early ones. I used one for my ICFP 2022 keynote and the images are beautiful: kcsrk.info/slides/icfp22_…

@kc_srk The industry doesn’t have the greatest of track records (looking for the least libellous way of writing that!) - but, yeah, beige. It’s all becoming beige - good art doesn’t come out of doing the same thing again and again, or even more in constantly trying to please people!
