@R1chardWheatley @enunomaduro From a dev point of view it offers flexibility without all the nonsense. Handful of plugins and you can rebuild 95% or WP sites easily

@enunomaduro Not convinced that Filament is hitting the same buttons that Wordpress is hitting from the "buyer" perspective?

An average of 200+ concurrent viewers during the two-hour Filament stream I just did—thank you! My thoughts on Filament? It’s ridiculously easy and powerful. We, as a community, should seriously start marketing Filament as a viable WordPress alternative these days. 👍🏻

@timoldland @jamiesmart I’ve watched 2 a few times. It’s a 6/10 for me. Loved the first one, haven’t seen the third yet… ( which is probably due to my indifference to DP2)

@jamiesmart It was hilarious and lots of fun to watch, but I’ve professed since first watching that it’s not a ‘film’ in the traditional sense. There isn’t really a plot. It’s just 2.5hrs of fan service and making people go ‘No way!’ repeatedly. It’s a shame as 1 & 2 are great films.

We watched Deadpool 3 tonight. I dunno. A lot of extended fight scenes to cult pop songs. Maybe too many cameos? Fun to watch though. Then again I didn’t enjoy Deadpool 2 on first watch but now I really like it, so let’s not trust my opinions on anything.

So, like a lot of people, I’m off. I’ve grown quite weary of Social Media generally mostly it’s just demoralising. I’ve made it as far as creating alunr.bsky.social and as a reward for finding me there’s a nice picture of my cat. I’ll do my best to post but, you know…

@wpmark Wordpress’s weakness is the cornucopia themes and plugins that exist only to sell each other meaning clean content, clean markup and ease of use get lost behind the sale of a £15 plugin

@wpmark When you say “built this with WordPress” what did you actually use? Some prebuilt theme you’ve childed/hacked (circa 30% of WP sites), a god awful page builder that produces fire code (55% of WP sites) or some handcoded html templates?

Spent 90 minutes building this in the #WordPress this morning and it still doesn't work correctly. Easy (ish) to do for larger screen, but looks awful on smaller screen sizes.

@BohuslavSimek @PovilasKorop We’ve already got plenty of sites in production that have replaced Wordpress with Filament/Laravel admin panels. They are faster, simpler and easily adaptable

@BohuslavSimek @PovilasKorop Most of those plugins are awful page builder/extenders. Good tempting options and custom fields would put the vast majority of those out to pasture As this is based on Laravel extending the app would be simple for any dev

@jamiesmart I’d remove the disk from the caddie and put it in a usb enclosure. The risk of getting the wrong power supply will blow it up. If you aren’t confident and are near Oxfordshire I’d happily help.
