@cesaralvarezll I think it depends on the ask. Asking too early for a full review can feel weird, but a lightweight prompt after the first small win usually converts much better.

Some people question asking for a review during onboarding. It sounds counterintuitive, but it works you catch users when they’re most excited. Most people only leave reviews when something goes wrong. If you want positive ones, you have to ask. This strategy got my iOS app to 59 ratings with 4.7 out of 5.

@steipete Honestly the wild goose chases are real 😅 When it starts going off track I just interrupt and reframe. Short, direct feedback works better than long corrections.

The biggest 'aha moment' I had while building Lunara Care: Nobody wants to open a period tracking app every day. So the real feature isn't more functions — it's fewer taps. That's why widgets matter. #iOSDev #IndieDev #buildinpublic

Just shipped Lunara Care v1.2.1. Added widgets this time — you can now check your cycle right from the home screen without opening the app. Took longer than I expected to get the layout right, but it feels much better now. #indiedev #iosdev #buildinpublic #appdev

Built a period tracking app. Turns out the real problem wasn’t features — it was opening the app. So I added widgets. Now you can check everything at a glance. Feels like this might be the real retention driver for health apps. #buildinpublic #iosdev

@slwl_dev Just launched, so no solid numbers yet. But early signals look good — more frequent daily check-ins and better consistency. Curious to see the retention impact over time.

@Alvis010420 Lunara Care v1.2.1 with widgets shipped 🎉 Home screen widgets are a huge retention lever for health apps — daily glanceable data keeps users engaged without opening the app. How's the widget adoption?

@eliana_jordan This is the dream 😍 Building apps on your own schedule so Monday feels like freedom instead of dread.
Touching grass level: expert. What’s the view like from there? Looks unreal 🌋🌊

@steipete This is insane progress! Core getting leaner + everything as plugin + Claude/Cursor bundle support 🔥
Can’t wait to try the new plugin system. Any ETA on when we can play with the stabilized version? 🦞

Thinking how we can evolve openclaw plugins to be more powerful while also making core leaner. Also wanna add support for claude code/codex plugin bundles. Good stuff coming soon!

Just built a little desktop widget for my girlfriend’s period tracker app (Lunara Care). Now she unlocks her phone and boom — main screen shows “8 days until” + “calm mode 3/25” right there. No more sneaky app checks or “babe when’s it coming?” panic. All data stays local, no cloud BS. She says it actually makes her feel way more chill. If you’re the type who wants to lowkey take care of your girl, check it out on App Store: search Lunara Care. Who’s got cute partner features in their apps? Drop below ❤️ #PeriodTracker #BoyfriendGoals #iPhoneWidget #GirlfriendApp

Friday reflection as an indie dev: Started coding at 18, thought I was “late”. Now shipping privacy apps like Lunara Care and DayMark Notes… turns out consistency beats starting age every time. What age did you start coding? Early bird or late bloomer like me? No judgment, just curious! 🚀 #IndieDev #BuildInPublic #iOSDev

Hot take: If AI can write all the code, will "programmer" become the lowest-skilled job? Some say yes: · AI handles CRUD, debugging, even architecture · PMs can build products just by prompting · Coding becomes basic literacy, like typing Some say no: · Real value is in business logic, trade-offs, decision-making · AI writes code, but can't take responsibility · Low barrier ≠ low value What do you think? 👇 #AI #Programming #TechDebate #FutureOfWork

Quick privacy pitfall for indie iOS devs: Thinking “no server = fully private”. Wrong. Even local data can leak via iCloud backups (if not excluded), screenshots, or app sharing. Fixes that work for me: • Exclude sensitive files from backups (NSURLIsExcludedFromBackupKey) • Use File Protection (NSFileProtectionComplete) • Warn users in onboarding about screenshots What’s one privacy mistake you fixed in your app? Share your lessons! 🔒 #iOSDev #PrivacyFirst #IndieDev

@justbyte_ Started at 18 in uni — total beginner before that 😅 No “kid prodigy” story, but grinding since then led to shipping real apps now.
