@TFIupdates @IrishRail Hi there. Is there any update on the 9.05 train to Heuston from Waterford? A family member was on board and said they were know waiting for a buses to arrive but that was about 2 hours ago with no update since?

The 08:00 Galway/Heuston service will terminate in Kildare. The 11:40 Heuston/Galway service will start from Kildare as a result. The 08:25 Limerick/Heuston service will terminate in Portlaoise and the 11:35 Heuston/Limerick will start in Portlaoise as a result. TFI @IrishRail

Something so satisfying about this man’s refusal to take the bait with the usual leading questions on migration. Just calmly & stubbornly fair-minded, straightforward, no nonsense answers in a perfect Wexford accent right in the middle of the town. 10/10

My favourite of all train passengers are the ones who can see the name displayed above the seat, can see you sitting there, look you in the eye and ask you - “is that you there is it?”. And then walk on as if they could lay a valid claim to the seat on catching you out.

The Harry Clarke documentary on OireachtasTV tonight was just incredible. I had a good idea of the story already thanks to this year’s @HistFest but really enjoyed the mix of archival documents and the wider overview of Clark’s life and work.

During that chat he mentioned he wanted to speak to me because he felt the cure and bonesetters like him were dying out, and it was important to keep our old customs and stories alive. So I did smile recently when I saw that he was immortalised in one of Claire Keegan’s books
